Awesome lunch, good choice on the menu, seated in the bar with excellent table service 🙂. Exemplary choice of real ales and popular lager types. Lovely atmosphere for a weekday lunchtime. Plenty of space inside and outside at the two tabled areas. Thanks to the staff who made our visit very enjoyable and well worth returning in the future.

Brilliant friendly service, a really welcoming atmosphere. I had dinner here with my partner and enjoyed the food. My steak was a little overdone for a medium rare but that's not uncommon and not a deal-breaker

The rooms are on the first floor. Music plays in the pub from before 9am till close to midnight. The speakers are mounted close to the ceiling so all the noise passes straight into the rooms. Incredibly unrelaxing experience, especially seeing as it isn’t cheap (£174 a night for a double room). Avoid.

Having stayed and eaten here several times in the last year while planning our wedding, I can say just how sweet the staff are and how delicious the food is. Our guests booked out the Inn for the weekend of our wedding and all enjoyed their comfortable stay immensely. Thank you to the team!

Nice country in with live music on a Sunday in the garden, very nice. Rooms were well equipped and comfortable. Evening meal was very good and excellent breakfast choices. Could not fault this one.

Went in this eve for a delightful dinner! Been numerous times before and always liked the place but wasn’t crazy on the food… however there is new management and new menu in town, menu much better and food was delicious, service was fab as always anyway and friendly. I recommend

Really disappointing last visit which I really hate to write about as I have very rarely left a bad review.
My husband and I had a wonderful first visit a while back and was so impressed with the venue, service and food (beautifully smoked meat, gorgeous taste) that we couldn't wait to go back. We were so excited that we had mentioned booking a roast there again but with our group of friends.
We booked a table of 12 (well in advance, approx 2 weeks). We were utterly disappointed to find out the only meat left was a few portions of beef and partridge but ordered nonetheless.
The staff forgot 1 order, partridge was too raw to eat and there were 1-2 roast potatoes on each plate - the portions were embarrassingly small! We spent over £700 in total on food & drink + £70 service charge which is a hefty bill.
A few days later I called to ask if we could get just a few of the mains refunded, at £20 a plate as we didn't feel we were given enough food and the quality was no where near as good as previous times. The Manager was lovely and tried to co-operate but in the end we were offered nothing apart from better service and few drinks on the house on our next visit. I don't think we will be returning on this basis or perhaps if we do, go just the two of us again as they clearly could not handle a large table. We're gutted as we thought we had found such a beautifully unique place but the last visit has really changed our opinion. Hopefully they will take these comments on board.
