Visited the hideout with a friend after hearing good things and was not disappointed! Quirky cool bar, delicious cocktails, dirty dirty fries, shuffleboard and a really friendly team. Definitely worth a visit!

The drinks were lovely and the staff were really nice but what let's it down is the quality and quantity of food and the prices are ridiculous for what you get. X

I was lucky enough to have never had a bad meal in a restaurant - until tonight. Hideout lost our 17 person booking for 6.30pm (Weds) as well as the pre-orders. They couldn't serve some of the pre-ordered dishes for some reason, so there were a few people who needed to choose something else.
We were given 1 free drink each and 33% discount for the trouble. Other drinks were very overpriced - 8.80 for a double gin and lemonade.
It took 2 hours for the food to arrive, and when it did the burgers and fries were luke warm but burgers were also overcooked. Onion rings were very pale and wet.
There was only one chef, one waitress and one bartender (+trainee) that I could see.
We complained about the wait time and quality of food but the staff were unable to give us any further discount. Whilst the waiting staff were apologetic and pleasant, the food was beyond sub-par.
A very disappointing leaving meal for two of our colleagues.
I, among others, will not be returning. This place needs a massive overhaul in the way its staffed and managed.

Fantastic location, within close proximity to where we were staying, which is always a bonus. Polite, conscientious and professional staff. Prompt service and a genuine welcome and good bye. I felt valued beyond my spend. Will definitely be back and will have no hesitation in recommending the pub highly

Visited hideout this evening with some friends.
The hideout was one of my favourite restaurants in town for food and drinks up unti about 6 or so months ago. Previously the hideout would have served delicious food and plenty of it. Raving about the food to my family and friends I took my family there for a meal about 4 months ago and it was terrible. There was barely any food on the plate!, they had barely any of the meals available to order. It was just a disaster.
I thought it was a one off as it was later in the day on a Sunday, so let it go. However went there again tonight and a similar thing happened. Arrived and the notice said serving food from 5:30 onwards (what's that all about???)
Partner ordered a platter for two and there was barely anything on the plate. Quality of food looked very poor and was missing a few items.
It very quickly went from being my favourite place to never wanting to eat there again.
A real shame because the place is decorated beautifully, a really good atmosphere and games. Just a shame the food let's the place down !

that all about

Stopped by at the Hideout for a quick drink on a Saturday afternoon whilst walking the dog, only intended to stay for a quick beer and a bite to eat. However it started to rain and as the Hideout is dog friendly popped inside. 2 beers, 4 gins and a double helping of Dirty Fries later was happy a friend offered us a lift back to where I was staying. Brilliant afternoon!

Very enjoyable time spent here today (28/08/21), the staff were great, very friendly and nothin was too much trouble, menu had something for all, and good size portions, our meal was very nice, we ate inside then moved outside with our drinks. Good position in the centre of Taunton great for watching the world go by highly recommend and would visit again when next in the area.

Great place. Best burgers ever, really good dirty fries too. The unruly burger was amazing - Even my son said they were magnificent so they really must be ! Great choice of gins too. Nice ambience. Lovely staff. Would love to return.
