Nice hotel and lovely staff with a great location however the room was a very different matter. Bed looked like it had already been slept in, dust on the lamp shades and the bathroom...mould on the celling, ducting that was no longer white. Overall when taking a shower - all I could think of this is this really cleaning me.

Booked here only for one night whilst on a road trip around Devon, was pleasantly suprised for the price we paid it was pretty good !

It's never going to be top notch for a cheap hotel but the bed was really comfortable and seemed the most part pretty clean apart from the windows could of had a better clean.

Shower had a decent water pressure to it, heated towel rail was a nice touch too.

The room had plenty of facilities including a safe, iron with ironing board and a hairdryer.

Overall worth the stay if its only for a night, didn't try the food so can't comment on that.

Friendly staff with easy check in and check out process.

£4 charge for overnight parking, which I feel should be free as most hotels offer free parking now. Plenty of parking spaces available.

Honestly this hotel needs major renovations and improvements. The standard of cleaning was unacceptable, there was mould in the bathrooms, dusty fans, pictures, and fan, stains on the curtains and floors. I would recommend to bring your own towels and hand soap as they give just body washing and smallest and thinnest bath towel from ikea. It just made the experience really uncomfortable. When you mentioned anything it was just met with excuses! Really disappointing stay overall.

The hotel is a little tired, dated and some of the main hotel spaces are not being utilised or used at all. The rooms however are functional, clean and serviceable for a no frills stay.
Towels were fresh and fluffy, the bathroom had a bath as well as a shower, one mirror light in the bathroom didn’t work, rooms were clean, mattress was comfy, bed was big although a little creaky. TV. Check in and check out was not a very memorable experience. Chap on checkout was on his mobile phone but then I checked out early so he didn’t expect to see anyone.

1 star. My room was booked via a booking agent. Arrived and was checked in with no paperwork. No lift only stairs. The room looks and is tired in many ways. This standard of decor and wary appliances is all across the hotel. The shower is weak, with the temperature fluctuating, and only one bulb works.

The bedroom again has only one working light, a small wall light. The iron attached to the corby press doesn't work, and I'd caked in burnt residue.

The main bar is tired, and in need of an update.

The dining room is dire. The breakfast was (see in images) less than appetising. With light fittings in a poor state.

To top it off despite booking the room with a meal/drink allowance as I'm ordering a drink at the bar (first one ran out on the pumps) I was informed my room needed paying for. This was the final straw. The room is secured by the booking agent of which I had evidence.

I had overheard a few guest asking "is this Fawlty Towers!".. I can understand why the comparison.

Attended for an SIA licence, the building is old and dated and in need of complete refurbishment.
Water dripping from a light in the ceiling and many others not working.
Haven't seen the rooms, but if first appearances are anything to go by, I definitely wouldn't come here again.

My colleague's and I were booked to stay here for the night of 18th November 2022. Upon phoning to pay the bill we were informed the hotel was now closed and our booking cancelled. There had been no email and no phone call to inform us of this. We now had nine people with nowhere to stay.
Subsequently we have heard rumours the hotel has been taken over by the government and will now house illegal channel crossers!

Booked this room via 3rd party website. Upon arrival I was told that it was closed for renovations. 3rd party telling me that I might not get my payment back because it is completely up to the hotels discretion. Unable to contact hotel, and bad communication on their part for not informing others that they are closed. Making me unable to get my money back
