Hadn't visited this place in over 15 years, wish I hadn't left it so long. We booked for valentines day evening in the restaurant, the food was amazing, atmosphere was cozy and setting was perfect. One must you need to have the garlic cheese bread its to die for!!!!

Lovely old pub, cool inside in the summer, and warm in the winter, (with real fire). Had a celebration lunchtime meal with work colleagues, the menu choice was varied, we all had something different and all really enjoyed our meals. Althoigh we weren't drinking, there is a great selection of draft beers, ales and cider. Also a nice outside area too. Highly recommended.

Absolutely the best fish & chips I've had in the 7yrs I've been in the UK! In the area to explore so stopped by chance. The nearly full carpark, and quite full outside seating area was a good sign. We stopped. We ate. We're stuffed full!! Darn it was good! Sioux and Paul

Established in 1380, this pub can't be beaten for its character. This, coupled with excellent home cooked meals, is a winning combination and you won't be disappointed.

Saw the Blue Anchor on a local BBC TV Show, so thought we would pop down.

We popped in on Saturday and enjoyed a light lunch and some excellently kept beer.

We would thoroughly recommend the pub as both a great historical location and a great pub. We will certainly return.
