Fabulous food at our meal for a pre wedding night catch up for family and friends. Wedding was at Gilestone Manor the next day which was withing walking distance 10 min walk. They had a quiz on in the bar and were very accommodating for our group to take part. A lovely evening.
My son thoroughly enjoyed the mixed grill, I had gammon which was fab. My husband had scampi and my cousin a plant based meal which he said was lovely.

Food was fabulous. Had steak and ale pie , pastry all round not just a lid. Wife had chicken burger and was also well happy. Profiteroles for dessert and they were really tasty , seemed to be homemade not usual mass produce offering. Portion sizes are more than adequate. Would highly recommend

Beautiful Sunday dinner, brilliant portion size and beautiful hand made mushroom Wellington could have ate double the portion of the Wellington.. Great portion of beef so definitely could increase Wellington size for vegetarians.. But by far one of the best Sunday dinners around!

A group of 7 good friends chose to go to the Three Horseshoes on 15 Dec 22 for our annual get together as we had previously experienced excellent food and service.
Unfortunately, although the food was very good, the attitude from the waitresses was dreadful, particularly one of the 2. Our plates were thrown down, there was no politeness, even though we are a very polite and cheerful bunch. We had to ask for crackers, condiments, drinks and coffees. When we asked for coffee the waitress threw down her cleaning cloth, rolled her eyes and said 'what do you want!'. In the middle of our order she started walking off in a huff as several of us had to shout to her back to order. Unsurprisingly, the order was wrong and we couldn't find anyone to put it right. As we settled our bill at the bar, we explained we were splitting the bill but had worked it out. She said 'seriously!!!?' and huffed off again and came back with her notepad. We had to go through every item, even though we had worked out the bill. Her face told us she was not happy. Everyone, very unusually, decided not to tip, despite the food being very good.
We were made to feel unwelcome and uncomfortable which put a dampener on our, much looked forward to, evening. There was no Christmas spirit at all.
I understand that low staff numbers, pressure, tiredness etc can impact on staff, however, this level of rudeness was continuous and totally uncalled for.
Regrettably, we won't be returning or recommending the Three Horseshoes.

Lovely place with friendly staff. We had our two Yorkshire terrier dogs with us and when we where seated outside our waitress asked if she could bring a bowl of water for our dogs.its the simple things like that which make such a difference and make.you feel welcome... Later on in the evening we where offered blankets as we where sitting outside ... Fantastic service and the food was leaps and bounds beyond just pub food. Rate it thoroughly.. reason for only 4 stars was the renovations that where going on .. but I do believe once they are done the place will be worthy of 5 plus stars.. good job you lot.. keep it up, stay humble.

With reference to Jayne Hill’s review of our experience at the The Horse Shoes for our Christmas meal last night (15th Dec 22) I entirely agree with her comments . Additionally, I had phoned 2 days prior to the event and asked for an extra person to join our group and gave her menu order. On arrival no extra place was set and despite asking for a chair and cutlery several times this was not acted upon . We ended up finding a spare arm chair ourselves and asking another table for spare cutlery. When requesting missing Christmas crackers these were just thrown on the table and not cleared away after use for the whole meal . We ended up putting them in a bag ourselves. Then, before being served with our starters we were told there would be a delay of at least 10mins because of the extra order (cold pate) , even though it had Already been ordered. . I have been a frequent visitor to the Three Horse Shoes since Covid and have attended several excellent meals there, including for Rock Choir celebrations and family Sunday lunches. I am now totally embarrassed by the dreadful service received last night and can no longer recommend it to others as an excellent experience . Maybe one of the issues was understaffing whilst trying to serve another large Christmas party group at the same time . We spent in excess of £250 for this negative experience and paying customers don’t deserve to be treated like this. The attitude and behaviour of the waitress was totally unacceptable and is a management issue requiring staff training to ensure others are not put off, tarnishing the reputation of a good pub with an excellent chef. At least the food was very good!
