Went for my future sister in law's 30th birthday this evening. Food was outstanding. Highly recommended 😁

This is a charming pub with excellent food and staff who are welcoming, friendly and intelligent. I'm conscious that 'intelligent' is an odd word to use in a review like this but I got the sense when conversing with the staff, particularly our waitress, that they actually listen when you talk to them and any response, whether to a request or general chatter, is considered and smart.

I said the food was excellent, and it was. Its also very well presented though this is the kind of place where the chips come in a small metal faux frying basket, custard in a miniature churn and so on. You basically lay out your own food on your plate, but that's fine (they show a level of self awareness in this by referring to the chips as 'posh' chips).

The toilets are clean (the gents anyway) and there's good parking, not an easy feat considering the size of the village.

I'd go again and recommend you do too.

Fantastic friendly pub - brilliant staff and food extremely tasty.
The steak and fish were very good quality savoured every mouthful. Portions were perfect and all served within a very reasonable time.
Wanted to keep the camembert wheel a secret- because it was so good I could have eaten that alone with a bottle of red.

First time at the restaurant last night for us.
Really impressed by the menu, the staff's knowledge and their professionalism.
It's a relatively new venture for the restaurant & team, with some teething problems perhaps... While we were there there were two drinks spilt over customers by the waiting staff, unfortunately one of those was a glass of red wine over myself (Brand new clothes potentially stained irreversibly), however the staff dealt with the situation impeccably. They were very apologetic and we're keen to cover the cost of dry cleaning etc. These things happen. It didn't spoil the taste of the meal 😊
The icing on cake for us was the fact that the restaurant allowed us to stop the night in our campervan in the car park too. This for us is a valued benefit.
We would happily recommend Hiraeth Kitchen to our friends and family, and would love to come back in the future.

This is a must visit for 2023. Carefully curated 7-course tasting menu in a cosy country pub. The team behind Hiraeth are passionate, creative and are have something a bit special here. Exceptional food, using local Welsh produce in a sophisticated way. We can't wait to return. ♡

Sorry, not a great experience. Were went along to support a new local business but some organising is needed....

We ate in the bar. Pretty setting with real fire. Nobody really seemed to know what they were doing. Bear in mind there were only 4 other people in the bar when we arrived.....
Whilst I was ordering our food a waiter brought some bread and crackling to the table. Rest of group thought it was 'on the house' and tucked in, as I was only just ordering about 2m away. After a couple of minutes someone else came out and said it was another tables food....
After waiting 20 mins for our drinks and food (didn't mind too much) we were approached to ask if we had ordered. Uh, yes.. and paid.... oh, sorry, 'could you retell me what you ordered'. It hadn't been ordered, so we waited again for our drinks and food....
We had small plates. What a very odd mix of choices, some like tapas, others half meals, none really went together...and why serve delicious fresh bread with curry butter. At least give a choice. The curry butter was nice, but real butter would have been much nicer on lovely bread. Also reluctant to give us the bread as the rest of my party had already eaten the one accidentally given to us...about 30 minutes before the rest of our food.

Went for Sunday lunch with my family and I have to say it’s the best roast any of us have ever had. We cannot wait to go back. Thank you

Excellent lunch time meal, piping hot generous portions. 12oz was particularly good, as was the mixed grill and the ribeye. Very good friendly service. Will definitely be back.
