Lovely atmosphere on entering. Window seats looking out across the promenade and out to sea. Background music wasn't too loud, which meant you could speak and be heard without shouting. The decor was welcoming and clean. Plenty of beverage choice to suit all tastes. The staff were friendly and helpful. Food is ordered at the bar, reasonably priced and was served to the table in a timely fashion. I would recommend, and use the eatery again.

Yes this was certainly a very pleasant visit. The location is opposite the sea and if you are blessed with a sunny warm day as I experienced you will be in for a real treat. Inside is very well presented with extremely pleasant staff. I sat outside with a glass of wine and had an enjoyable hour. Do not miss a chance to visit The Waterfront - in addition Porthcawl has a lot to offer with a very lovely town which unlike some Welsh towns does not look as if the economic climate has made any real bad effect. I visit often and am never disappointed.

Recently came here for food with partner and friends. We decided as it was a friday have the “2 meals with bottle of wine or 2 pints for £20” ended up paying £42 god knows why, as it was clearly stated on the boards dotted around the restaurant/bar (we even asked which meals we had to choose for the deal) even with a £5 surcharge for a steak it would of only come to £30.

Food was decent but medium steak was cooked welldone sadly.

Manager is a bit rude.

Saw a sign out side saying £20 two grill meal and a free bottle of wine , thought that’s a bargain to good to be true, got home mrs called them to check and yes two grill menus and a free bottle of wine on a Friday!! Wow, had friends calling down so booked a table for four! Still a bit dubious, got to the waterfront and asked at the bar if we get two grill deals and a bottle of wine for £20 told yes and shown what three meals we could pick fro. The menu rib eye steak, gammon or chicken, obviously we all picked the steak, only to be told they didn’t have rib eye and we would have to have rump, we All said as long as it is part of the deal that’s fine, we were
Told it was, So no problem. We all had our meals cheap wine over cooked very thin. Steak not the medium rare we asked for ! Never the less we ate, chatted and even bought another round of drinks, the bill was paid without looking at the amount stupidly !!!! On checking the bill on the walk home it seemed we were charged £43 the full cost of two rib eye steak meals ? We called on the phone explained the situation and spoke to staff who said we were over charged and we were due a refund, then the staff said her manager wanted to take the call, we accepted as had no choice and the manager said that’s not the deal, the deal was pay two full meals and get a free bottle of wine!!! We are appalled that’s not what the board said and not what the staff member said on the booking call and not what she said when we ordered the meals and if we had known there was no way we would pay nearly £22 for a badly cooked thin burnt steak that wasn’t rib eye as the menu but rump and that we felt like we had been ripped off as that’s not what was said or Offered ! The manager was a waste of time ! We will never drink or eat at the Waterfront or the marine as it’s owned by the same people, Buyer beware they will lie to you, serve you overcooked pub food down grade your steak and charge you full price even though there’s a deal on and they confirmed it ! Can’t say enough bad about this place !!!!

Very disappointing!! We are locals and often visit this place! We tried to book a table for Xmas Eve and were told that all tables fully booked but we could walk in on day and see if there is a table free. We did this and found a table free. When we asked for menu we were told only bookings for food no walks in! We asked to see Mary the owner and we were told she was unavailable but 5 minutes later she was in bar! No food was being served at all in hour we were there!!! No business sense or customer service 🤔

We visited the Waterfront on Boxing day, it was warm and cosy with such lovely Christmas decorations, we had very nice coffee and it was a lovely atmosphere there. We will definitely return very soon.
