We shall not be returning. My partner wanted to visit this pub for surf and turf for so long so we finally booked. On arrival the barman was very welcoming. I asked for a pint of Brains to be told they didn’t have any so I had to chose an alternative. I ordered a soda water with ice and lemon for my partner, to be told ‘no lemon’, only lime. Ok, we will have lime! My partner went to order our meal for her long awaited surf and turf to be told ‘no rump steak’ but she could have sirloin at a higher price. She argued it was not her problem that they had no rump so could she have the sirloin but at the rump price? No! Was told was steak night the night before so all rump sold. She picked an alternative. Scampi and chips. What appeared with the scampi - slice of lemon!!! Thought you were out of lemons 🤔🤔🤔. For dessert she wanted apple crumble and ice cream. Dessert appeared with the smallest scoop of ice cream we had ever seen in our lives. Crumble was apple side up instead of crumble on top so had to turn it over and it had obviously been frozen and heated up. Very mediocre experience so much so we will not be returning for a second time.

As a coeliac sufferer I was immensely pleased to see a gluten free menu with a good range of options. I opted for the Cowboy beef burger with fries. A plentiful meal and tasted great. Having pinched some of my partners chips I would opt for chips myself next time.. fries not being my normal choice. Excellent range of desserts from which I chose the Sundae (which was almost too much for me after the main meal.. but I manfully got through it). Really tasty!! After coffee I was well content.
Staff deserve compliments too. Service was prompt and efficient with everyone so friendly.
Highly recommended and I will be back!

I booked here for 12 of us for our staff Christmas party, the table was set well with crackers for each of us. The staff were very friendly and pleasant, nothing was too much trouble. The service was prompt and we all had our food at the same time. The portions were huge, beautifully presented and very delicious! The chef even came out to check our meals were up to standard. Overall a very positive experience and I would highly recommend going here. Thank you for a wonderful evening 😊

Went for a meal here as a table of 9 at 6pm.....no mixed grill available no vegan chilli available no chips only fries....very disappointed....burgers were hard and just put on plate with lots of fries very unappealing. The tables were all crammed together and everytime some one wanted to pass I had to stand up including the waitress who was back and fore constantly. Don't think we will be returning for a while.

My friends and I went there for Christmas Dinner and it was gorgeous! Staff were friendly, portions brilliant and quality was lush. The new owner is definitely making the necessary improvements and it shows! Will 100% be going there again

This was our vacation pub, so during our vacation this was our local.
Most of the staff are very friendly.
We went for a dinner, was a bit of a disappointment. One of the meals was a fish finger sandwich and chips etc for £7.49, however 4 Fish fingers only filling 2/3 of the sandwich, brought this to their attention, the said that isn’t good and provided 2 extra fish fingers on the side for £3.50! We felt that they should have fixed this but they ensured that we paid for the additional 2 at almost 1/2 the cost of the full meal.
I had the lamb shank, huge bone, but the quantity of meat was in my opinion pretty minuscule. My parents had great meals though. Just some of their menu items they should review and adjust.
All in all a great clean pub and hope it grows and maintains as we would like to visit there again the next time we visit.

We came last week and everything was good. Came a week after booked the table for 5.30 and waited for all to arrive table of 5. We had 2 disabled people with us my mother in law and farther in law. We sat at a table and talked for about 15 mins to then be asked if we were eating as the kitchen was shutting at 6. We made up our minds quickly and went to order. I had the hunters chicken it was not a breast of chicken it was half a breast of chicken, it was also dry and the bacon way over cooked and not enough sauce. I do understand how busy it is this time of year as you all work hard in this industry as i have worked in many pub/restaurants and also managed, but it would of been nice to have been told as we came in about the kitchen closing early and also not a dry half chicken breast.
