Smithfield Bell

Was there meeting up with my son and his family. We started off ordering drinks. The Pepsi had ants floating in them which was noticed by my son.
We were told they knew about the issue (but served them anyway).

We were grateful for the discounted deserts which were absolutly delicious. Yummy Belgian waffle.

Visited recently ( Thursday/September) . The establishment had issues with their gas appliances, so a sign inside double doors indicated pizza only . We were about to leave , when staff said it was just fixed .... hurrah.
They had waited 3hrs for a gas engineer to arrive .

Have eaten here before , decent food . When you get it open . There is a small change to ordering , you have to pay up front ( no more tab ) . Due to the fact of a recent incident "they gone done a runner " . Company change of policy now .

Ordered a couple of meals , steak (rare) . The food arrived promptly and the service was the usual good standard . The food was warm and done to perfection . The staff were under a little pressure ( due to kitchen appliances issues ) and short staffed , some potential customers felt a 20/30 min wait for food was too much and decided to try elsewhere .... I would have said foolish ,but. No sooner had they gone than the cooker packed in again and the engineer was gone . The staff managed to plate up 19/20 in the time it (cooker) was working and they worked hard under adversity . Due to unavoidable circumstances delivery of food was an issue - however the staff , quality of food and atmosphere was spot on . When in Welshpool - pop in - you won't be disappointed .

Awful meal.

Had a Sunday roast dinner, 2 roast potatoes, peas, carrots, red cabbage, stuffing Yorkshire Pudding with choice of meat or vegetarian wellington

The vegetarian ( broccoli, cheese and mushroom) wellington was just pastry. Couldn't find the mushrooms or the cheese and the broccoli was the tiniest piece you have ever seen and stuck to the pastry.

The red cabbage looked like the consistency of cranberry sauce.

The pigs in blankets ( cost extra) were overcooked.

The best part was the carrots.

Expensive for what was provided. Won't be returning for the roast dinner again.

Amazing experience I had the mexican nachos they were amazing and then the big burger for 11.50 3 burgers was defo worth it and the waiter was incredible really nice

We were a large party of originally 13, and ended up being a table of 10, with a few last minute cancellations ( sorry about that!)
The service was excellent, the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. It was a birthday meal and I had a thoroughly enjoyable time!
Would definitely recommend to family and friends in the area.

The staff were very nice and welcoming. However, the meal was most unpleasant which was very disappointing as the meal was a farewell celebration with friends. Things weren't helped as we were the only people in the Smithfield.
I am sorry to say that I think it will be a long time before we visit again.

outstanding customer service. staff are always lovely here. however, very poor standard of food. adults gammon was like a child’s meal and majority of food was burnt. never usually have bad experiences here.

Lovely little pub, the food was really nice as it can be hit and miss with pub grub. Best guacamole I’ve had in a while! Lovely gentleman serving us, tall with grey hair, really polite and good with the customers!
