The New Inn

Great food and service. But had to listen to a tank topped buffon in the bar area all night. You know the type, loud, obnoxious and completely oblivious. Shame, would like to have returned, everything else was great.

Great village pub, very olde worldy inside and Lynn the landlady was very friendly as were all of the staff. The drinks were very reasonably priced as was the food but all of our steaks were over cooked. Will try again for Sunday lunch next time. Just had Sunday lunch here and sat outside as it was sooooo hot. The menu was very limited but as I was having the Sunday roast I was fine but if yiu didn't there wasn't much choice. My food was delicious and reasonably priced too.

We have just thoroughly enjoyed a fantastic meal so massive compliments to the chef. The food was tasty and fresh and the service was great too. A great atmosphere in the pub which is so hard to find in the current climate, we will not leave our next visit so long no hesitation with five stars.

The New Inn is a lovely pub, tucked away in the village of Abthorpe near Towcester. We were recommended this venue by some local friends we were visiting and to say we weren't disappointed was an understatement. We had a very warm welcome from not only the staff but also the customers! There wasn't that moment of silence when you enter a strange pub and everyone turns to look at the new arrivals!
The bar had a great selection of well kept Hook Norton real ales plus the usual lagers etc.
The food was fabulous - large portions of well cooked traditional pub fare, served in good time to all of our party of 6.
The building itself is obviously very old and does look like it could do with a little TLC but that in no way detracts from the great, warm pub experience. In fact it added to the charm and makes a nice change from bland chain establishments.
A great pub that it well worth checking out.

Really great food in a very traditional pub setting.

The quality of the food was excellent and the service was friendly and engaging.

Good parking at the rear although the entrance is very tight.

Had a lovely lunch today, would highly recommend The New Inn, great food, great service, special mention for Lynn and great atmosphere.

Had a Sunday roast here, was absolutely beautiful! Fair priced and good portions. Also all the staff members were so friendly and helpful! Will definitely be returning 😌

What a delightful pub. Proper old school hospitality from the staff. The food is superb, all cooked to order and delicious. If seafood is your thing, do yourself a favour and try this place. We will be back.
