Last minute weekend away with the other half which was outstanding in all areas. Had no idea this absolute gem existed in this part of the county.
The menu had a plethora of choice and every meal was awesome, exceedingly good value for money as well. The staff were amazing, good crack and really helpful.
The area it self had plenty of walks which was perfect for us and Rodney as we like running and walking each day.
100% will definitely return.

Lovely Inn, situated in a quiet village in rural Devon. We were the only guests staying the night, so they voluntarily offered gf, dog and I their master suite at no extra charge. Great hosts, great menu and we'll defo come back

We have just enjoyed a wonderful 1 night stay at this fabulous pub.
Our room (no 4) was beautifully decorated and well equipped with lots of nice touches and a spacious bathroom.
Our evening meal was superb and breakfast simply outstanding!
The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful throughout.
We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this 'hidden gem'.

Had a lovely meal with family, warm welcome nothing to much trouble and staff with a sense of humour. Thank you for making our night, the slow cooked pork was superb especially with the added gherkins 🤣🤣
Definitely be back

We've been to the Royal Oak many times over the years and the current owners, who have an aviation link as I understand it, are turning this into a very (very) good place to eat. Sunday lunch is outstanding, with great roasts, a good serving, well presented, and good value. Whoever is working in the kitchen as the chef is very good indeed. 10/10

Wow. What a hidden gem. In the middle of nowhere but well worth the effort to get there. A proper old Inn. The rooms are beautiful. I would imagine that Americans would love to go there. The food is superb and the service is second to non. Can't wait to return.
