The Fountain Inn

Have just returned from a two day stay at The Fountain. Had a large double room, with en-suite, at the front of the pub. Very comfortable, and both the bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean. All the staff were friendly and welcoming, particularly Courtney, who couldn't have been more helpful.
Food is excellent. Great selection of dishes and lighter bites, all really well prepared and very tasty. All in all, a perfect base from which to explore the beautiful Forest of Dean and Wye Valley, or just somewhere to go for great food (and beer) if staying in the area.

Ate two evenings running here and really impressed with the food. The wild boar sausages were superb and the fresh vegetables were cooked perfectly so they still had some bite. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. They do allow dogs in the bar area so if, like me , you're allergic to animals mention it when booking and they'll sit you in the restaurant. It does get extremely busy so you do really need to book to be sure of a table.

Lovely take out food and we went for an evening meal as a family. The food was amazing!, very helpful staff.. You must book a table, we did but people were just walking in presuming there would be space but they were fully booked, so definitely book.

Just had lunch here today and it was very good, a bacon, brie & cranberry baguette with salad & chips. The staff were excellent, especially Jess & her serving partner. A delightful experience...

We've just spent four days at this lovely Inn. Perfectly located for exploring the Forest of Dean and beyond. Very comfortable rooms, well appointed. The staff are lovely and so helpful. The food was excellent, we didn't have any complaints whatsoever and will return at some point. Thoroughly recommended.

Booked Sunday lunch at the Fountain Inn last Sunday. Lovely warm pub, excellent service and the food was really really good. All fresh vegetables and the turkey was 👌🏼.

The staff are very considerate and helpful, food was great and the room was excellent. The Inn has been carefully and sympathetically renovated. It is in a perfect location to explore the Forest of Dean. I certainly hope to return in the future.

Came with a group for lunch. Everyone enjoyed their food. Good menu. Pleasant surroundings. We were a group of 12 and it would have been nice if tables could have been put together so that we were all together. However we enjoyed our time. Would definitely return.
