Lovely proper pub, no bells and whistles, and out of the way, but the nicest sandwiches we have had in a long time - ham & mustard, roast beef & horseradish on delicious granary bread. Two men discussing magpies and partridge at the bar. It was like walking into another era, but in a good way.

Beautiful walk from Mop End to The Crown through gorgeous countryside. Simple but fresh lunch in the small but colorful garden. This pub is clean , friendly with great selection of beer. Perfect way to spend a Summers day in the Chiltern.

Lovely small but perfectly formed twin room for a night away after a friend's wedding. Perfectly located about 2 miles from Missenden Abbey.
Owners super friendly and accommodating with earlier check in ahead of wedding ceremony.
In room breakfast and decent shower with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Good value and very peaceful surroundings.
Pub looked lovely but sadly did not have time to sample on this occasion. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Thank you!

At the end of our country walk is this lovely pub. A good range of wine and well kept draught beers. Then there is the garden, it is glorious, massive and a great sun trap.

Met a friend for a pub lunch. Great landlord. Good banter and very helpful. My friend had forgotten to book but the landlord was very accommodating. Gorgeous pub garden for when the weather is better. Can park in Amersham and walk there which is what we did. Will visit again.

Lovely range of homemade sandwiches. Great place for a light lunch on a warm sunny day. Only do light snacks but does them nicely. Very welcoming.
