I was given a very warm welcome on arrival from Paul. Customer service by all staff is excellent. My room was well furnished with a very comfortable bed. My breakfast was cooked just how I like it. Thank you all

Great little hotel, great Samuel Smiths beer, and great food. Cash only pub which is good to know before hand as nearest cash machine is a drive away. Rooms are nice and very reasonable with a good breakfast thrown in.

We stayed there a couple of years ago and overall it was unexceptional. What was a problem was the very bright light shining from some sort of device on the ceiling. I'm not sure if it was a heat detector but whatever its function the thing lit up the whole room interfering with our sleep. It was too high up to get to it and so it had to be endured. We won't go back.

Tastefully refurbished, very clean and comfortable, breakfast was delicious and very well cooked. Very good value for money, felt more luxurious than that. Had early morning walk down to the bird reserve which was a short walk and beautifully peaceful. Will stay again on way up to Scotland, easy to find off M6.

In a word fantastic. Two quality nights of peace tranquillity at a fine location.
Excellent accommodation, great breakfast, good pint, good value and friendly staff.
This how to modernise a small public house/hotel without losing the beautiful charm of the original period style and history. Well done.
Not the featureless 'gourmet pub' trend which has killed so many establishments after the Hooray Henries have moved on after been “seen” and charging it on their lucrative expense accounts. Its only £3 a pint, how hard up are they if they cannot afford to use cash?

No smelly wet dogs to trip over or arrogant look and listen to “me” types whilst they use the latest phone to annoy you. It is heaven. Will be back.

The rooms are clean comfortable and full of character
The staff are excellent too, there nothing to much trouble
Yes there is no phones, tablets etc allowed but that adds to the place
The food and beers available is cracking also

All in all had a lovely stay and would without blinking return again

Beautiful pub with a welcome traditional feel. Great food at a very reasonable price with numerous vegetarian options. Definitely our go to pub for a hearty meal after a busy day.
