Shard Riverside Inn

Lovely venue for Sunday lunch. Great surroundings and very friendly service. Just a little disappointed with the main courses. The only vegetables on two different dishes were roast parsnips and as one course was chicken with new potatoes and the other, steak pie with chips, there was no other colour on the plate and no variety of flavours.
What we did have however was lovely.

Room quite small but very warm and very clean .
Absolutely delicious evening meal , but quite disappointed in the breakfast .
Quite small portion ....1 Vegan sausage, 1 hash brown and no vegan spread available ....dry toast , not so appetising, no fresh fruit or pastries.
On a positive note, the plates were hot and the food was hot

Couldn't rate the rooms as we didn't stay we just ate at the restaurant.

Driven past this place so many times on the way to visit family and said we'd have to try it one day.

Well that one day came and it didn't disappoint.

The views over the river were amazing and we were treated to a lovely sun set while we were there

The food was good, I'm a salt monster and I didn't have to add it to a single dish. Everything came out piping hot and tasted delicious.

The soup was lovely and smooth and the big chunk of bread that came with it was so fluffy and light.

The pie was stuffed with generous portions of meat that were nice and tender

And the Sunday roast was so good I even ate the stuffing and I'm not a stuffing lover.

Good recommendations from the staff who were friendly and professional.

Lovely food in an amazing setting would definitely go again

The staff here are so lovely and went above and beyond to be helpful. Especially the restaurant manager who did everything he could to cater for my fussy daughter! The only negative thing was the rooms furniture is a little tired but in no way did it affect our stay. Would definitely come back again.

Rooms are a little compact but it's got everything you need including a lovely view of the river. Very clean, modern and most importantly a comfy bed. Definitely use this hotel again when I'm in the area.
I must say the steak burger was delicious and definitely made with decent beef. Good selection on the menu so no need to venture out. Exactly what's needed after a long day on the road.

I went on a day where the weather wasn't so great unfortunately so the view wasn't as good as in the summer. I had Sunday roast and it was probably the best I've had and reasonable price wise. The staff were friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend.

I’ve just had the most marvellous meal at the Shard! Everything was perfect from the staff showing excellent attention to detail, to the most exquisite food. The hake was cooked and served beautifully! The steak and ale pie was a massive hit too. We will definitely be going back. Thank you xx

Lovely review of the river Wyre, can imagine it to be lovely in the summer.
The pub and dining area is decorated beautifully and it's very clean.
Staff are friendly especially the manager? Ge was very chatty and had a wonderful character, made the meal entertaining.
The food was amazing, best in the area.
