Great little pub 20min walk from Heronsdale Campsite through the woods. Amazing garden for the kids, dog friendly. They also like people.

Only stopped here for lunch on a bank holiday Monday. Plenty of indoor and outside seating in the gardens.

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, excellent drinks and both the building and the garden are absolutely beautiful!

Stunning country pub, roaring fire and lots of character in great position….. unfortunately, we were greeted by grumpy landlord and Lady, who lacked a friendly welcome and just rushed around seemingly ‘huffing and puffing’ and verging on rude with ‘short’ attitude to a customer on phone, really lacking bonhomie….. food average and too expensive for what we received…… real shame, room for improvement

Just called in for a quick lunch time drink as thinking of moving to the area. This truly a real English country pub with lovely fire, warm atmosphere and lovely views. Food smelt great so will be back soon to try it.

Visited as a group of 8 a few days ago.

Pub and garden setting are beautiful but we all felt the food was average, especially for the price, which they are charging top prices. The food was not bad at all, but none of the 8 of us enjoyed our food. Greek salad wasn't a Greek salad, a mackerel salad only had 2 pieces of cucumber and the rest was essentially rocket. Burgers had no flavour at all, even with cheese and caramelized onion topping. We felt the charges don't reflect the quality of the food.

Also, a theatre production were doing a show in the beer garden, and someone from them came over and asked us to be quiet. We are on holiday, and it's the first time we've been together as a group since before covid struck. We weren't even being loud and we were quite insulted and it really put a downer on our evening. Not everyone in the beer garden wanted to watch the show so if they want a location where everyone in attendance is there to watch the show, a pub beer garden is not suitable.

Have been going to this pub whenever camping nearby but this time despite being the first customers, had to wait over an hour for my food when others who arrived after us were being served first,. Chips were over cooked and fish was watery and batter was soft. I was charged £3.90 for a service charge which has never been charged before. When I query the charge I was told its a new thing but I didn't have to pay if I didn't want too. On the bill it stated that the 10% charge was for 8 or more people , we were two. Will not be returning to this pub again.

Lovely meal. Very friendly staff. They accommodated a group of 17 of us that I had booked a month earlier. We are a walking and socializing group and had combined a walk in Waldron beforehand. Extremely happy and will definitely come again.
