A very friendly welcome from Pauline, and a great hot shower after our long day walking the Glyndwr Way. The pub is rather shabby but don't let that put you off, the countryside is stunning and more people should be doing the walk! Our meal was fine and plentiful.

Someone reviewed this B and B being like Marmite, and I loved it. OK it's very shabby with very old carpets and towels etc, stains on the ceiling and running down the walls in one of the bathrooms, flaking paint everywhere, but the bed was clean and comfy, the shower was hot and a superb evening meal was provided by the very characterful Pauline, the owner. What more do you need after a day walking Glyndwr's Way.

Lovely little pub which is dog friendly and perfect bite to eat. The interior is a traditional pub with beautiful exposed beams and a fireplace. The owner is a lovely host! Will certainly be coming back to try out the pool table!

The owner Pauline makes this place brilliant. It's shabby but local, not renovated but clean. A proper host who looks after people. Love it. Food is proper pub food. Sausage supper, yum 😊

Very friendly owner and a lovely pub to go to. We just stayed at the nearby camp site and went back every day. Food was brilliant and the atmosphere was great. Would happily come back again here!

I was in Llanbrynmair at Bear Bones 200 bikepacking challenge and I Stay 2 nights at Wynnstay Arms. Delicious breakfast in the morning and very nice barman Pauline.
Video on my YouTube channel if you want to see the pub.

My friend booked this 'hotel' based on the seemingly positive reviews from other victims.

Honestly, I do not know where to start. From the outside, you get a taste of what is to come. The exterior has green algae all over the white brick work. The wooden window frames are visably rotting and the glass is starting to drop out.

We entered the hotel and were great es with a message saying our rooms were upstairs and that the manager would be there from 19.00 - we arrived at 17.30. There was absolutely no one in the hotel and the place had a faint damp smell.

We proceeded up the creaking stairs to the first floor. The carpet looked like it was 30 to 40 years old. We opened the door to the first room which had the window with the rotten frame we saw outside. The room had 1 double bed and 2 singles. Only 2 of the beds had a head board and of those thag had headboards, they were clearly very old and deteriorating. As for the bedding, it looked and felt as if it had been washed 1000 times. It was faded, stained and felt dirty. Towels were laid on the bed. Again, these looked and felt like they had been washed too many times to count. They were frayed and town at the ends.

Honestly, if I hadn't experienced the 'hotel' for myself, I would have thought it was a joke. How someone thinks this is acceptable, I do not know. I myself did not stay at the property as the conditionn was below what I could tolerate.
My other friends did stay and were unable to sleep. In the morning, breakfast was meant to be served at 07.00. No one appeared until 08.30 when they had to leave.

If I could help you visualise the hotel, it would be for you to think of the 1960s film, Psycho. I was almost expecting the mother and son to be in one of the rooms next door

If you are in any doubt as to whether I recommend this 'hotel', I most certainly do not!

Avoid!
