We are very jealous of those who have left good reviews for The Cambrian. We found our whole experience very poor indeed, starting with our selection of “Beginnings” which arrived after our starter and which we sent back. My steak was cooked well; rare, as requested. However the experience was rather spoiled by the arrival of my wife’s paella, which was dry and overcooked with a blob of mayonnaise on top! Very odd and flavourless. Service was inattentive and generally very slow. The Welsh Ale on offer from the bar was, however, quite good. From the experience we had we could not, in all conscience, recommend this venue.

Not a single negative on this place, I’d give them another star if I could.
Staff were so friendly and helpful, full of life and aided an already pleasant evening.
We had the ‘Fat Pig’ burger which, in all my 30 years, was one of the best ever burgers I’ve had. Honestly just wanted to give the chef a massive hug in thanks - sensational stuff.
Inside is beautifully set up, especially too with big screens that can be opened on the hot days (which it certainly has been this week!)
Two of the burgers and two shandies came to around 40 quid, so well priced.
Small car park, however there is one at the end of the high street which is only a minute or so to walk.
Loved here so much we booked another table for 3 days later!

Book beforehand during school holidays. Large menu good choice. I expected Solva Crab but when we went it wasn't on the menu. We were unlucky with our service. We had a table served by a young man. We ordered starters (thankfully as it turned out) all arrived all good. Then we waited for our mains, and waited, and waited. After an hour I managed to get the attention of the staff and asked where our mains where or when they'd come. Each time the waiter and waitress said they'd inquire. After 90 minutes our waiter came and told us the kitchen had forgotten us. After a further 30 minutes or so our mains arrived. The restaurant were very sorry and gave us a drink for free. Apart from that the food was excellent. Very good food.

Lovely place to sit. Not much outside space and right on the roadside. Good was amazing in 2021 but this year it felt a bit overpriced for what you got. Good though and nice staff

Perfect from start to finish. Lovely room, excellent location, great food and very pleasant and helpful staff. Our only mistake was not dining there in the evening, but we will make sure we do next time. Breakfast was beautifully cooked and had an excellent range. Highly recommended.

Good food, freshly cooked, good variety of menu for meat eaters. Wine relatively expensive, lovely desserts. Accepts dogs in bar.

Didn't really have a good experience at this pub if I'm being really honest. The food took a really long time to get to our table. I don't know if I was just REALLY hungry or I was just in a bad mood for being really hungry, I don't know. When I got my food the waiter had told us that one of my colleagues food had dropped so he'd have to wait for another 5 minutes. All round not a happy customer.

Called in to the bar last Saturday as we had our dog with us.

Made really welcome then ordered some beers, olives and bread to share, a BLT and a halloumi sandwich, with some chips.

We really enjoyed everything and there was a lot of food on our table, but the chips were honestly the best We've ever tasted.

Thank you
