Easy parking and nice surroundings. The food varies greatly depending upon who is cooking. There appears to be a chef who works for a few days a week and other days are catered for by the owners. The overall appearance is quite rustic and looks like it could do with a bit of tidying up. Overall the better of the two pubs in this little village.

Lovely fresh cooked food. I highly recommend the mussels. My husband and friend loved the ribs too! We ate here twice during our stay in a cottage and enjoyed the experience both times.

A bit pricey but the food was good and they had a nut roast for me so they deserve a full five stars.

There was a roaring fire and the toilets were clean with some nice decorative touches.

There was a kid's, curry, vegetarian and various other menus dotted around on blackboards.

Overall it was a nice find while travelling to mid-Wales.

Visited this pub a year ago, food was tasty and the owners were very friendly. Giving three stars because I visited a few weeks ago but it was closed! I drove past it a couple of days later and it was open. No indication of opening times/days on the outside so it may be inconsistent with its opening times. Other than that it was a good pub as of a year ago :)

Visited today after an awesome day out at Hay on Wye! Hay was uplifting and met friendly people. Decided to have a drink at a 'locals ' bar only to be greeted with hostility! Tried to make light but the Landlord did not want to meet us even half way! Such a shame! Visiting from Cornwall. However, this has not dampened our Wales experience! Met a local on the way back to our accommodation and he apologised for our experience and said the locals don't use the pub but go to the Griffin! Wake up Bridge, we are all humans experiencing trying times. Bless you

Good food, good service and friendly atmosphere. Great for a family meal out. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

A truly unpleasant man behind the bar who refused to fill up a bottle of water despite it being an extremely hot day, I approached with nothing but a friendly smile and politeness and he continued to treat me with complete prejudice I assumed was based on the campervan that I pulled up in. Never had such a hostile greeting and such a horrible experience when entering a pub. I would not recommend supporting such rude behaviour

I would give this place zero stars if google would let me! Went to this 'locals' bar for a couple of drinks, and we didnt even finish our first round of drinks as the atmosphere was made uncomfortable by their 'regulars' and the barman making remarks about how they preferred the place quiet with the same 3 regulars visiting, and not outsiders. It felt like we couldnt even chat amongst ourselves as the place was that quiet and made us feel like they where listening in, with the locals also sitting quietly as if they didnt want to chat as there were 'outsiders' there. I ordered 2 vodka lemonades and it tasted as if the vodka was cheap and nasty (although it was meant to be Smirnoff) and the lemonade tasted watered down! Please don't waste your time or money in this place walk a bit further along to the Griffin where everyone is more welcoming and friendly!
