The bad......very busy at peak times, daytime parking is a joke here also and I had to park a loooong way from the gym. I've never been able to book a class using the app, they seem to show up and be instantly full. Class I attended during the day was one of the worst spinning classes I've ever done. Couldn't hear the instructor and he kept getting off the bike to have a walk around (never seen that before).
Overall it's quite local for me but will check out some other gyms when I'm due to renew my membership.
I’ve had a long spell away from any sort of formal fitness and honestly, I was quite intimidated by going back into a gym. It might seem weird to some, but it was quite a big deal for me taking that first Step to getting fitter.
So imagine my horror when Luke dropped that video about changing the gym.
Now my initial response to it (as a business owner myself) was fair play, he’s creating a unique value proposition in the face of a changing industry and new local competitors. But, the gym i joined would have a totally different feel, I can’t remember what he coined it, a high performance personal training centre or so. That wasn’t the vibe I was going for, It would be amazing for some people, but not for me. I don’t want ”world class personal training”
As I said, I understood he decision to change things.
So, I emailed Luke and said best of luck in the future, I wish you well with it, but it’s not for me, please could you cancel our memberships and refund the fees.
This was met with a total snotty attitude, wasn’t interested at all with doing the right thing, instead just got back totally rude emails that really got my back up.
I mentioned to Luke that his attitude was totally off base and I wouldn’t hesitate in taking legal action to claim the money back, and he attitude was bring it on. Totally disgusted, bemused and shocked at the levels he’ll stoop to, all for the sake of less than £500. It Wreaks of desperation and it seems he couldn’t care less about me, or any of the rest of his clients so it seems.
I just wanted to let you know what you’re dealing with and I’m sure if anyone gets to read this, Luke’s responses will be totally on brand, argumentative and a total disdain for the people in his community 👌🏼👌🏼
It can’t be long till we see this place boarded up/liquidated/sold on. Hopefully this gym will be under better management soon 👌🏼
I have been going to this gym for a few months. It is never cleaned correctly and the machines are cleaned around if cleaning is done. They have built a new platform for free weight benches which is unsafe. All floor is dropping in. Owner/management are aware an no signs/ cordons were in place and I tripped with 2x 30kg dumbells in my hands. Luckily just twisted my knee. Shocking practice and zero health and safety
