Here is a simplified review of the facility:

Initial:

-reception 9/10 (welcoming and alert)
-sign up/passes 9/10 (seamless)
-look and feel 8/10 (quirky design, commercial)
-price 9/10 (<£1 a day for decent gym and spa)
-referral scheme 6/10 (tricky and not worth it)
-location 9/10 (close to station + mall)

Gym:

-cleanliness 9/10 (dedicated cleaners)
-changing room 9/10 (spacious, nice lighting)
-cardio 8/10 (decent amount of equip.)
-machines 7/10 (99% technogym)
-weights 7/10 (small area, need more benches)
-air conditioning 9/10 (cool, medium space)

People:

Gym status: casual
Peak times: morning and after work
Wait times during peak: can be quite long
General mood: warm but serious
Staff: friendly
Manager: dismissive

Summary:

For the price of an average gym membership you get access to a gym, a pool, a sauna, a jacuzzi and a steam room.

The facilities allow for versatile training but are far from versatile - this gym could do with less treadmill-type equipment and more benches. It also needs a hack squat/ v squat, a true squat/pendulum squat, glute kickback, more cables, dedicated deadlift space.

Pool is nice and cool and steam room is nice and hot (usually) and hydrating - perfect combo to end a workout. It is a shame that the tanning beds and cold/igloo room are no longer in operation - would easily bump up the leisure value of Golds.

I have only been here for a month but it is a clear upgrade from Buzzgym/thegymgroup and the sort. I cannot speak on the classes but the instructors seem nice and they are part of the membership.

TLDR; Overall I give Golds gym a solid 8.3/10

Joined just over 2 weeks ago, and I haven't regretted it one bit!
The staff are courteous and not in your face.
The gym itself occupies a former theatre, and the opulence of the decor is fascinating.
The showers are very good. ( I'm fussy about showers 😊)
There's ample equipment; both cardio and weights.
My only disappointment is that there's no Wifi .

Worst gym and worst management ever. They don't keep their gym equipment working condition. And they have such horrible policy that if you want to leave gym you have to give one month notice. Otherwise they will charge you 10£ extra. I think if you can't keep your customers properly and your equipment then you should shut your so called gym.
Never ever suggest this gold's gym Harrow to anyone.
Please when they give you your for gym please ask them if your equipment or jacuzzi or swimming pool not working are there any chance I can get extra day or that day money back. Because they don't have policy for that. But when you want to leave they will take extra one month money.
Their staff has only 2 thing to work.
1.scan customer I'd ( not required)
2. Asking money for their excuse

Sharing a poor recent experience…

I asked front desk staff about guest passes and she explicitly told me that I had a two free passes on my account from when I’d signed up and confirmed it would be fine to use one on my next visit.

A week later, based on her information, I brought a friend to train with me and upon arrival, they said I had to pay £15 for the guest pass. I explained the situation and that I had previously been advised otherwise but they didn’t budge. Super annoying but paid the fee as my friend had made the trip. I emailed management later that day to explain the situation and that I’d like it resolved.

Felt it was unfair to pay the charge it as based on a mistake from their staff and incorrect information being fed to me.

Their response - “if you would like to receive a free guest pass on your account, you can leave a google review for Golds Gym Harrow and it will be added after 1 month.”

Here’s my review. Wonder if they’ll honour their words this time 👀

The gyms got a brilliant set up in terms of weight lifting, cardio machines, great classes that we can attend to for free. I also love the swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna which is essential for relaxation. It is definitely worth the price.

Been a member for over an year and it was ok.
Friendly staff and pleasurable environment.
I go there twice a week but unfortunately, things are now changed.
Since reopening after Christmas, the showers in the pool are freezing cold every single time , with the consequence that people does not shower and jump directly in the pool, which is disgusting, especially when they just come out of the steam room.
Changing rooms and premises are filthy and smelly.
More then once I have seen people complaining with the staff, but the situation hasn’t improved and every time is the same .
I’ll give it another go, but will cancel my subscription if water it is cold again..
The money we pay for the fee are real and good valid money.
Premises must be cleaned and showers have warm water.
we deserve to have a good service delivered.
I guess the owner is trying to save money…..

I’ve been going to this gym for past few months and it’s been nothing but negative experiences. There are certain group of young men who have no gym etiquette and are very disrespectful and loud ,rowdy . Gym is place for people to relax and mind their own business but this branch of GOLDS GYM it’s the complete opposite!!! Me and several other people have made complaints about this at front desk but are doing NOTHING about it . These group of young boys have made me and several female (some male) members feel very uncomfortable to the point where I had to cut my work out short and walk out , when I voiced this to front desk , it was useless and waste of my efforts . GOLDS GYM DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT
