Leaving this post as an out of towner, first visit (needed somewhere to to train whilst visiting family for the weekend). Large gym across two floors, lots of free weights, cable machines and resistance machine, many cardio machines (but we don't bother with that do we?). Non intimidating atmosphere, mixed customer base. Staff are very friendly, happy to help and answered all questions in a courteous manner. Changing room has lockers (bring your own padlock). There's a fridge with bottled protein to purchase but nothing made on the spot. The best part was I went on their website and got a 3 day pass so I trained for free. I however did ask how much a normal day pass was, should I be passing again. When I heard it was £15 normally for a day pass I was shocked, but then again it is London prices.

Fitness First Romford is one of the better public gyms I’ve visited. It’s pretty quiet, you don’t get the hustle and bustle of a regular public gym. The staff are incredibly friendly and getting a free PT session when you start is a nice gesture and eye-opening experience. My only issue comes with the sauna and steam rooms, where steam rooms have been completely decommissioned in the last month, and the saunas go but are turned off during most of the day. Excellent gym, and by far the best choice of gyms out of puregym and the gym.

First visit. Looks great, l took up a year membership and hope to start using from tomorrow. So far so good (for me). I've been a member since March 22 and still liking it. Update: Sept 2022 - closing for refurbishment. Once reopened will be under another franchise and without health suite - that's me done! Off to Sapphire and Ice.

Good gym, music is always good, even better staff! Sad to see that it’ll be closing on Sunday but I hope some of the staff stay

Pros: Firstly, amazing staff and positive vibe! Adam and his team are quite friendly, knowledgeable and approachable. Music at times when run by a particular manager is really good! She's practically a DJ in hiding. It can get busy during peak periods, but off peak is awesome.

Cons: Equipment. This gym has a lot of potential, they have really good surface area for equipment, so a hip thrust machine, a Swedish roller massage machine, along with some machines for arms would be absolutely awesome.

One of the best places to exercise. Friendly staff, clean surroundings and lots of different exercises to keep you buzzing . If you haven't visited this gym you are truly missing out.. By the way it's the Romford branch .

Very good gym. Great variety of equipment. Good space. Warm hospitality from each staff. Top marks. Only issue is lack of tissue and disinfectant spray to clean up machines before and after use.

Enthusiastic and helpful staff. Fairly large club with additional rooms for spin and classes. Showers unfortunately a little bit dismal. The ceilings hold water. Other than that plenty of room for members. Member maintenance of equipment is not that respectful.
