pros:
-big parking lot
-some of the members are helpful and nice
cons:
-dirty, Mold in the shower rooms which are used for changing clothes (looks gross and not healthy for people with asthma), usually shower "tray" is not cleaned so hair and fluffs are stays there, grout is white originally but usually is amber by the dirt, smells comes back from the drain.
-electric vehicle charger usually blocked by other members with non electric vehicles so can't get access to them.
-deducted Novembers pay while gym closed due to the lockdown
-no cleaning material, when i asked how i can clean the spilled water in the shower room the simply answer was "use your personal towel". i think a mop would be better use for this....
-the gym for long time wasn't available in the night times. (anytime should be available ANY TIME. this is why i paid £30 a month instead of £15 in the other gyms around Lynn. no refund or no any offers for this inconvenience.)
Firstly, Upon joining the gym we were made to purchase a £30 key fobb to gain entry which has never worked, even after being told the fobb has been activated and reassigned! Each day I have to wait at the door or in the carpark for someone to let me in. On various occasions I have had to ask training members inside the gym to let me in.
Secondly, there is no communication between the gym and the members. You ring a number which no one answers, you leave mutiple voicemail messages having no response back!! God knows who you contact in an event of an emergency! However, if you want to join then someone is available to speak!
Two weeks ago the door entry system was changed overnight and no member was informed. Me my mates travel 20 miles plus to this gym, passing 3 local gyms which we can use but there's no consideration or appreciation from the management about this. Last week after the 4th failed attempt to use the new QR code entry system, me and my mates decided not to train at this awful place. The SALES manager Pat who says she is not a manager kept blaming members for not using the qr code properly, this can be the case for one of two members, not the 15 members all siting outside one morning. After making a number of calls to terminate our membership we managed to end our membership, however the SALES manager Pat managed to charge me and another mate 2 months membership and another mate lost the remaining term of his membership (8 months)even though it was anytime fitness at fault and in breach of the contract; we were penalised for this and refused any refund. From my view, there is no point training at a gym which you can't get into, that is the whole point in joining a 24/7 gym that should be available to access anytime of the day! The management keep saying that the problem with the entry system is sorted, but please do not believe them, they will get you to sign into a contract and make you pay the whole term.
Weights are never re racked - problem is that there are 1.25, 2.5, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25kg plates but only 4 locations on the squat racks in which to place them. In every gym I've ever been to staff will periodically go around and organise but I've not once seen it done here in a year.
Squat racks are placed too close together - if one is in use then it isn't safe to change plates on the other.
Leg press is so close the wall it makes adding/ removing weights awkward and potential for injury.
Has all the equipment needed to be a great little 24/7 gym just being let down
