Highly recommended for all ages. Ideal as a one off or regular visit and especially as a unique party celebration too!

Excellent place, for any age group. It's so relaxing. I was with a 12,13 and 18yr old and tbh had no intention of painting anything myself as I am not very artistic. But I was persuaded by the children and before I knew it I had spent 2 hours doing a lantern. Cost is per item you choose,so you can spend 6 pounds or 20 and collect it in a week. Totally recommend it.

Cute place, woman is very friendly! They have different rooms so good for adults too we’re both in our 20s and had a nice chill time :)

Hi, I just saw that there was a bad review for this establishment so I thought I would write a review!

I absolutely love coming to Funky Pots to paint some pots. The process is very therapeutic and fun and, personally, I find the staff very welcoming and hard-working. I come from a minority ethnicity too and yet I have never experienced or witnessed any sort of racism. I would assume that customer’s review was a isolated event or misunderstanding. :)

Overall, a great place to visit with friends or family! There are food and drinks to keep you going and helpful staff if you mess up (like me!).

A very unwelcoming and in my view racist experience. I entered the premises and met the owner and gave her my booking name. She left to check and came back to offer us a table for 4 but we were going to be 6 people. I advised her of this and she very abruptly asked my 7 year old to stand up from the table. I told her not to be rude to my children. She denied being rude, but I emphasised that it was her abrupt tone and it was rude especially for talking to a young child.

She spoke to her male colleague in Mandarin/Cantonese while adjusting the table to make it for 6 and then told us we could go and look at the pottery available to paint. We walked over to the shelf and within seconds she rushed over to my 4 year old who was pointing at the pottery and loudly stated again in an abrupt tone that no one should not touch the pottery on the shelf.

Next to my children were an Asian family whose children were actually touching the pottery on the shelf. I told her again, that her tone was rude, she had not previously told us that the pottery could not be touched and further, why was she not speaking to the Asian family too? She stated that she had previously told them (instructions they had clearly not followed, but not chastised for) and stated to me, 'those are the rules'. In my view, she thought I was objecting to not touching the pottery, this was not the issue! I was literally asking her to be polite, there was no reason why any of these interactions could have just been polite conversations rather than rudeness directed at children.

There was a white family in the shop and the Asian group and both were being spoken to in a reasonable tone, even friendly. Meanwhile, I as a Black person with mixed Black children, we were treated very differently. I do feel that politeness was reserved for others.

The owner did apologise for the experience but refused that she had been rude or treated us differently. I chose to leave the shop as I did feel this experience was racist and despite asking at the outset when we were offered a table that children should not be treated rudely, the owner decided to still target my children, simply for being in her shop.

Funky Pots is a wonderful place with warm hearted staff. The previous review of a racist experience I was there on that day and i feel like it has been blown out of proportion. I am Asian (Indian) and felt no racism. I think “racism” is a strong word to use. We spoke to the customer to calm her down as we where also a customer and she didn’t want to listen. I would definitely go back with my kids. It’s already hard for businesses to survive with the current state of the economy and important others are not put off with negative reviews.
I will be spreading positive reviews about Funky Pots!
Also FREE parking is available outside it which is handy.
See you soon

Very lovely place! The owners were very friendly and couldn’t be more helpful. I took my older teenage son, and we both had a great time.
