Loam - Pottery Studio & Art Courses

I'm now half way through my 3rd 8 week course, and I'm loving it. I can't wait to get back to the studio each week. It's amazing how quickly you pick up the skills and before you know it you've got a new set of mugs. The studio is in an amazing location, and Jack is a wonderful teacher. Very Patient and often teaching at numerous levels depending on the students within the class - very impressive! I would recommend to anyone to give it a go.

A wonderful few hours spent on the “taster session “ last month. Jack provides a warm welcome to his studio and he is a very personable professional. He is incredibly passionate about his love of pottery and this is evident during the course. All of our group were given his time in equal measure and his patience was superb.

Last week was the first 4 days of the 5 day course (the last being a glazing day in July) and it was absolutely phenomenal. Jack is a fantastic teacher and extremely patient - something he needed an abundance of when teaching me! A great introduction to pottery and I shall certainly be back to do another course in the future.

I did the taster pottery session and had such a brilliant time. Jack led the workshop with such professionalism, kindness, gentle humour, and skill. He made sure we were all very well looked after and came away with a feeling of achievement. Despite my many mistakes! The small group size also makes it feel like a very personal experience. And in a lovely environment. Hope to carry on with more sessions in the future!

My mum and I had a fantastic time on the 2 hour taster session. It was so much fun and very therapeutic! Thank you Jack! We will definitely be back for more!

Great experience day!! Small class so everyone gets plenty of help, if required. Excellent tuition, Jack knows his stuff and how to teach it. We all made 3 pieces to be very proud of. And came away with the pottery bug, wanting to do it again :) No previous experience required. Book a lesson, you will throughly enjoy it!!

Fantastic afternoon!!! Bought as a Christmas gift for my mum who also had a great first time on a potters wheel! Perfect beginners taster session for anyone who would like a go, Jack was a great tutor! Looking forward to seeing the fired results :)

The one-day wheel pottery course was just great and Jack delivers what promised. Having previously spent a few hours on the wheel (with poor results) I was surprised that at the end I was able to make three tall cups and 2 bowls, but the big surprise was that my husband that has never made any pottery in his life, had the same results. Jack-way to teach has allowed such amazing results. We came back home with 10-pieces ready to be use for our meals. I highly recommend this day out in Petersfield. Thank you Jack!
