Youdells Art Shop

Quite literally the best art and supply shop I've ever visited. As soon as I stepped into the supplies department I was in awe, they have vast options of products to suit school age to professional artists. The Windsor and Newton range was incredible. I have never been more amazed in a shop in my life.. I didn't want to leave.

You can find mountains of bargains from large offcuts of mounting boards for 10p each; to reduced £1 Windsor and Newton oil paints, I say this with all honesty whether you are a hobbyist or a professional get yourself down to this shop and you will not be disappointed. The staff that work there are amazing and helpful (I'd like to thank a lovely lady who served me today unfortunately I did not catch her name however she was blonde and was there at around 12 or 1pm she is a credit to the business.

Follow the stairs down to the cellar and you will be greeted with the sight of the most gorgeous original fine arts and portraits, I felt so inspired as I looked through the paintings and sketches.

I only wish the shop was based where I live as I do not live in this area, this shop is a genuine credit to Kendal and if you are a budding artist get yourself in the shop and you will not regret it.

Very helpful, knowledgeable staff. Well stocked and reasonable prices. Will certainly visit again when next in Kendal.

The owners are absolutely highly knowledgeable & most kind. To find an art supply store in the states that has such a variety of high quality supply of papers, implements, mediums, & more in nearly impossible. I was so excited to learn of this store that I made a trip to Kendal for the sole purpose of going to Youdells. Being that I'm visiting the Lake District, I am having to use the bus line. Which means I'm carrying everything I purchase. Lolol 3 heavy bags of supplies. The best thing too is that the bus stops right at the store! I look forward to coming back in the fall as they have remained steadfast for 30 years! Same owners! Thank you Mrs. Muir♡♡♡♡ I just cannot say enough. The prices were unbelievable too...they also do framing as well. Such a privilege to find this store. Blessings to all who pass thru.

Great art shop, very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

A really good art shop on the South side of Kendal. Stocks a wide range of art supplies for all aspects of art. Well worth a visit. The downside is that there is no website but if you ring them they are very helpful. Recommended.
