Lovely independent bakery. Excellent variety of bread and great quality too. Much better than supermarket bread. Gorgeous lardy cakes too! Always enjoy my visit to be served by such lovely friendly staff.

Ordered my sons 21st birthday cake and from the first contact it was a very easy process. I was sent pictures with ideas and the end product not only looked amazing but tasted amazing. It was demolished at the party with loads of comments about how delicious it was. Thank you so much Sarah and team.

Absolutely love this place !! Had to make a cheeky detour today when out with work to stop off for few treats !! You name it freshly made rolls,sandwiches,pasties,panini's all of which are amazing,and then you turn around and feast your eyes on all those mouth watering cakes and pastries !!🤩 Good selection of chilled drinks and a lovely coffee served too !! Not forgetting the lovely staff !! Until next time !! 😁

Very disappointed! The brownie was rock hard and a knife wouldn't even go through it (I was trying to cut it in half for my son)
The baguette was hard and tasted stale. This place is mega expensive for poor quality products.

I've ordered a couple of Birthday cakes from here and they have always been amazing and reasonably priced! See you next year! Staff are very happy to help even with the couple of weeks notice I gave them, as I'd forgotten about the cake for my wife's birthday.

I destination-visit this place from time to time and am a proper fan. Their Marmite white loaf is why. Incrddible and The preserves they sell vary but the buyer is a star and only trades in quality stuff. The pink grapefruit marmalade I just bought is incredible! As for the cakes and other breads, well it's a sensible selection and outstanding quality. Trust this fat man, the Progress Bakery is heavenly. And the people behind the counter are wonderful and remember all their customers.
