Godfreys of Hornchurch

The smell of fresh bread,rolls and cakes is one of the best smells on the planet. They do hot food as well. Sausage rolls are delicious. Sometimes you have to queue but thats understandable at this moment in time. The service is good though.

Good to support your local shops. Bread and cakes much nicer than supermarket bakery items. Get here early though if you want a good choice of bread and rolls.

Lovely fresh crusty bread staff very friendly also.

Cheese and ham salad on crusty bread, better than your after work dump.

I got a ham salad. Baring in mind It was a bloomer so nice thick bread, crazy chunks of tomato not even sliced properly and the most stingy piece of ham, there's so much salad/tomoatoe on this thick piece of bread you can't even taste the ham. Step it up and stop being so tight. If you guys want a real bakery Mr. Bunns in Chadwell heath is unrivaled, salad chopped up lovely not an inch think piece of tomatoe like I had from Godfreys today. The bread is lovely and they are excellent with there fillings not tight at all. I'd rather do the extra drive from now on and go Mr.bunns. Will not be returning here, shame because I just moved to Hornchurch,

Best bakery in the area, especially for crusty rolls and bread. Put crusty rolls in the freezer and when they defrost they are as good as new. Cakes are good too.
