retarded idiots gave me a meat and potato pasty when i asked for cheese and onion, i have been a vegetarian my whole life and was nearly sick when i bit into it. the manager was rude when i rang back into complain and offered to swap it for a cake!! its an easy job they have so you expect them to do it right. do not go unless you want to be served by morons

I ordered a 70th birthday cake for my mum. I had already bought candles and when I rang to order, the manageress who took the order kindly advised on size for 5 people and I ordered a round cake. She asked that I bring in the candles so they knew where to place and decide where to put the inscription. I asked for a light pink ribbon, white cake and advised when ordering to have a rose (iced and part of the price).

It was ready for collection on specific day and was excellent. Very nicely decorated. Exactly as I requested. Very moist and delicious. Icing on cake wasn't heavy. 3 tiered sponge, buttercream and jam.

I would definitely recommend Greenhalghs. Rather than booking on line, perhaps telephone. More personable. I'm sure they'll accommodate specific requirements if asked and possible.

Eggselent!

Had broccoli & stilton soup £2.10.
Usually get it from the Orchard St shop & it's very good. This particular Fishergate branch served it almost cold that it had nearly solidified. The elderly shop assistant was thoroughly miserable when serving me and managed to slop it all down the sides of the paper cup. I asked for salt & pepper which was thrown in a bag with a spoon, along with the soup, (despite maintaining I didn't want or need a bag). Extracting them out of the inside of the bag, which was spattered with cold soup, I got the sleeve of my new jacket covered in it. No napkin to clean my hands or jacket, ended up throwing it in the first bin I saw, to messy to even start. Never imagined buying a cup of soup from a shop could be so problematic. It goes to show how awkward and irritating an everyday simple purchase can go, when you are served by an assistant who doesn't give a toss about the customer. I will not be going there again, massive thumbs down 👎...

Always good pies and pasties. Soups and sandwiches are ok but not what I go for.
