freshly made baguettes or sandwiches to your spec. far better than supermarket meal deal. always polite, friendly, cards accepted. fabulous pasties, sausage rolls. take a yummy slice of cake home for a treat too

Went in expecting friendly staff as i have in the past but was in for a shock. Was looking at the menu and was asked what i want before i even had a chance to look, when i said i was just thinking a blonde lady the youngest looking of the lot seemed frustrated i was taking so long (which i wasn’t), then no more than 30 seconds later another tall lady with glasses asked in a much ruder tone to which i replied again just a minute please, and was greeted by a big sigh as though i was causing a great inconvenience. I then ordered my food and felt very judged throughout the whole process, and to top it off what i ended up with was quite an average baguette.

This was an absolute shambles this afternoon after playing golf with my mates. We walked down to orme and devine craving a delicious sandwich and then we walk in and get aggressively stared at by all the staff thinking we will rob them. They get asking us what we wanted but we were still trying to decide and they were very impatient. The sandwich’s are normally excellent but today they were average at best. People were walking out of there saying it’s a awful bakery and I definitely won’t be going back. I also wanted a sausage roll but they weren’t ready apparently so I couldn’t get one which is not good enough. Me and all my mates had to go in Co-op to get more food

Not good at all. Staff reluctant to serve with an intimidated look on their faces as I walked in. I was greeted not by hello how are you, just a rude 'what do you want'. They didn't give any time for me to decide and the lady with glasses was the rudest giving me a dirty look every time she walked at me and asking me what I want as son as I set foot in the shop. She was reluctant to even make a sandwich, despite them usually tasting sublime. Waste of money, asked for a sausage sandwich and watched them proceed to get two loaves of Kingsmill out of the breadbin and put some precooked stale sausages in there, I could've made that myself at home if I knew that. Food - 4/10. Staff - 1/10. More manners and patience definitely required

Went in, was clearly seen by the two members of staff in the shop as I was the only customer. No acknowledgement, waited a few minutes to see if any one spoke to me. No they did not they just carried on in conversation, so I left without purchasing. Will avoid in the future.

In many ways Orme & Devine should merit 5 stars but sadly I can’t find it in me to give them more than 3 stars after today’s visit.
As I went in I thought there had been a change of ownership due to the new layout and the staff seemed new however whether they are new or not the same unfriendly service prevails.
I stood for an age while 3 staff cut up salad at the back. Whatever happened to a friendly greeting or even “I’ll be with you in a min”? You are just sort of left awkwardly standing.
Eventually I was ‘greeted’, no smile just a stare by a young to middle-aged chap who was efficient enough but was very stone faced. I think what topped it was the middle aged blonde lady with glasses and a pony tail who asked the old chap next to me what sauce he wanted but he didn’t hear her (probably didn’t even know she was addressing him) and then she stated rolling her eyes and shaking he head to a colleague (subtle – but I certainly saw it).
So yes in conclusion this place should have a lot going for it. The car parking, the ‘look’ of the shop, the quality of their products but somehow it’s not enough. The staff really need to be a bit more friendly and welcoming. Will I go again? Yes but certainly not for the experience.
