I just tried to phone this branch as I realise I have made a mistake in the transaction I did about 10mins ago. I got India. They tell me there is no way to speak to someone at the branch. How ridiculous is that in the name of modern banking. It means I will have to get in my car and make a 5 mile journey. I do not call that customer service!!!! The staff at the branch are wonderful but they are not supported by a sensible infrastructure

Look after us well. Staff went the extra mile with the £1 coin changeover, accepting the coins late on the Saturday.

Useless waste of time trying to phone my branch!

The negative comments and poor ratings below are nothing to do with the branch, they are to do with the system of communication within the HSBC UK. This branch is friendly and helpful, not the faceless and detached nature of some. 4 stars may be more accurate, as sometimes there can be quite a wait as there are only two counters, plus I have previously been given an appointment to discuss financial implications of changing my mortgage with a very young looking lady who I guess was a trainee, certainly was not an experienced advisor to say the least - I knew more than she did! However, the personal greetings, overtly friendly and helpful staff, and welcoming manager makes 5 stars fully merited!

The cashier really went the extra mile, changing over a big selection of foreign currency. Must have been a real heart-sinking moment when she saw me, but she dealt with me in a very gracious and patient way. Thank you indeed.
