Entered the branch to see some guy screaming at the staff to close his accounts and give him his money back. Not a great look tbh. I intended to open an account with a sizeable amount of cash but the process and staff just didn’t make it easy. Decided to use another bank in the end.

Al Rayan is nothing but a joke of a bank. Their staff are highly inept and I regret ever taking out a “halal” mortgage product with them. They refuse to advise existing customers in branch and ask you to ring their customer service number instead. After being a customer for 4 years, our experience has been that their staff are unable to answer simple questions such as what is my equity percentage share in my property? How much payment do I need to make to get into the next ‘finance to value’ band? What would be my monthly repayment if I made x amount acquisition payment? We have rung them countless number of times in the past few months and each time the experience has been highly unsatisfactory and unprofessional. I am at the end of another 2 year product with them and am on the brink of switching to a normal high street bank’s product where I can deal with real professionals who care about their customers and can advise them in an intelligent capacity. We last spoke to a lady called Shaheen in their customer service department and informed her we will end up switching to another bank at this rate and she simply sounded like she could not care less.

lack of interaction with customers to find out what they want, I understand that its a small bank, however if they don't attract customers and encourage them to open account they are by extent damaging the reputation and the bank will struggle to grow. This is specially sad, because there are so much demand on Islamic finance in the UK and it's growing and Al Rayan bank could and should capitalise on it, because that will ultimately help the Muslim community in the London.

Suddenly received letter informing acount closures dispite a vast amount of money in my ac being calling but no answer. Why does this happen in a with in our community everywhere. This why people like using none Muslim establishments. Mr CEO if cant pay someone to answer the phone calls then remove the phone link from your web fo not mislead people. What terrible service....

AVOID! I'm.very disappointed. They are very arrogant. Just because they are the only bank that offer halal mortgage, they think they can do what ever they like. They take advantage of customers and have high fees and charges.
I've been very patient with them. 2 weeks ago I just gave up. I stated my mortgage process about 3 months ago and it's been problematic from day one .

Staff are ARROGANT, UNHELPFUL, UNPROFESSIONAL.

THEY ARE VERY INVASIVE AND GET VERY PERSONAL for no reason what so ever.

They have a very informal approach and I hate that. They become friendly and talk on a very manipulative manner. They are very SCARY AND DAUNTING.

I CANT TRUST THEM.

They accidently sent me someones mortgage application. This makes me question their integrity. Is my data safe with them? NO

I would give zero if I could. Poor service. Always on hold and no one actually knows what’s going on. Avoid if you can. We need another Shariah complaint bank to compete with them.
