Smokeshed Bar and Grill Hoddesdon

What a place! Sensational food, amazing friendly service and made a fuss of our dog Jax in the covered and heated garden/terrace. Don’t hold back, come and have some fun and eat amazing food. We had the Meat Riot Board and everything on it was amazing. Favourite though was the Brisket… words don’t even cover it! Bo’ok now!

We walked into a lively atmosphere and loud familiar rock music that reminded me of the Tony Hawks game and American Pie films. After we eventually got our drinks (the lychee cocktail is good), we ordered our food with help from friendly staff.
Unfortunately, the food took a long time and when it arrived, half of the platter wasn’t hot. Fortunately, the waitress and chef agreed with us and we were given another platter of steaming hot tasty barbecued meats. Everything was delicious. The pork balls and beans were awesome and the onion rings were a stand out. Massive and crunchy. The ribs, brisket, sausage and pulled pork was flavoursome and cooked well. Others in our group ordered chicken wraps, wings and various other items and enjoyed them all.
With no space left for deserts, we left satisfied and stuffed. Big up the waiters and waitresses as they were attentive and happy. Props to the chef.

The food was absolutely incredible. We've been to a few smoke houses over the years and this by far the best. The staff were really friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. The manager tonight was lovely and so friendly. Amazing!

Location is good, ambience is good. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Toilets are clean and there is some outdoor seating.

Food (meat) quality is excellent and on a similar level to Smokestak in Shoreditch so would highly recommend on that regard. Decent range of beers on tap.

Good offers depending on the day of the week (E.g. Wing Wednesday and a Thursday cocktail offer).

Have only given three stars as the food was slow coming out (which to be fair they warned us about when placing our order), and also we ordered a round of beers that never turned up, in addition to 2 of our party being served incorrect orders (wrong type of wings, half rack ribs rather than full). The staff corrected the bill based on this.

That being said, I would return here due to the quality of the food on offer at reasonable prices.

Authentic smokehouse ribs and brisket. I had the full rack of ribs and it was very tasty. Busy place. Nice place. Price point could be better. £18 for full rack of ribs with no sides is expensive. Some of the sides are quite expensive ie £4 for corn on the cob is expensive. But overall good food!

Great decor and friendly welcome from waitress. Great choices of food to suit all budgets and tastes from wraps, hotdogs, burgers to delicious smoked cuts of meat and delicious sides!! Will definitely return with more friends to try more on the menu!

Absolutely amazing experience. You can smell the 16 hour grilled brisket down the road and it will lead you to this bar. I was highly impressed with the food quality and will be defo coming back.

Honestly one of the best food I’ve had in a restaurant!
The halloumi sticks were warm and delicious
The nachos portion was very big and could even serve as a main for someone, very delicious and full of toppings
The burgers were absolutely delicious! One of the best I’ve ever had!

The restaurant was extremely clean and very warm and comfortable with a lot of unique decor
The staff was so nice and welcoming
And the lunchtime deals are amazing!
I definitely recommend this place, it’s unique!
