Brocks Bar & Grill

Under new management, was a good selection on food, good options for drinks too, dirty fries was amazing, burger was amazing the steak was cooked exactly how I liked it, definitely I would come again

Wow. Just had our first experience of Brocks Bar and Grill. A quick lunch cos her indoors only had an hour . Amazing food and a great welcome. Will absolutely be going back . People of Maesteg this joint definitely deserves your patronage. Use it or lose it.

The food was lovely, but it was so cold inside that it went cold very quickly. It was so cold our entire table had their coats on. There were only two people working so service was very slow. So slow I ended up getting some of the food from the collection point myself as the waiter was also working the bar and taking orders the same time. The place still looks unfinished and seems like it was rushed to get it open. Will try again, just went the summer comes around so its not so cold inside. Loads of potential, just feel its not ready yet.

Overall we really enjoyed our food but the order we recieved was slightly wrong. The person taking our order did mention he was new.
We ordered the "burnt ends burger" on a beef burger with salted fries and the "silenced the lamb burger" on a beef burger with garlic butter fries. The wait time was pretty long but the staff member did mention after about an hour that a flurry of tables arrived just before us so it was understandable.
When our food arrived it was plated beautifully. The burnt ends burger came on a chicken burger not beef and the silenced the lamb burger came with plain fries not garlic. Both burgers were stunning !! I did notice halfway through eating that we also didnt have salad on our plates, we didnt mention as we were in a bit if a rush after waiting so long.
Overall they were really great burgers and we will definitely be back.

Lovely food but was only luke warm. The restaurant also needs effective central heating. Prices are decent and hopefully little niggles will get resolved. I hope it's a success!

Drinks were a really good price. I enjoyed my food but my other friends had awfully small plates. Service was so slow. The bar tender was so lovely. Management should have taught her how to do job because she seemed stressed and didn’t know how to do it. Only one vegetarian option.

A disappointing place which is a shame as it could be brilliant for Maesteg.

The food was boring and on the cold side. The managers who I think were owners seemed like they couldn't be bothered and even looked lost. I think husband and wife team?

The only positive about the place is the young waitress we had who was very chatty and actually quite funny. We felt sorry for her though because she was clearly stressed and not her fault so no complaints about her.

I won't rule out going there again but think I'll watch what other reviews say over the next few months. Money is tight so don't want to waste it .

Came back to Maesteg to be with friends. They asked me to choose where to have food delivered from. I chose Brocks B&G to my mortal shame. Food sloppy and cold. Oliver Twist wouldn't ask for more in this place. I've been told that if you write a honest bad review they ban you. Don't worry I value my life so I'll ban myself. Maybe instead banning people who give you bad reviews, stop being immature and improve your food and service then you won't eventually ban everyone in Maesteg and go under because you don't have any customers. Common sense is really needed here.
