Appalling experience at Runaya today. Arrived at 9.30am for a bikini waxing appointment and no one was at the salon. Called mobile number on door and was told bus staff travel on must be late (staff later contradicted this and explained issues with owner’s refusal to pay them for their time). Staff arrived at 9.35am but wax was, of course, not prepared. Waited until 9.55am for wax to be prepared. At 9.55am went to find staff as no one had told me what was going on. Went into treatment room and saw that wax was largely still hard and that staff seemed under pressure and stressed. When I asked a staff member why they were not prepared for the appointment despite it having been booked days in advance, she explained it was because the owner refuses to pay staff for preparation time. She said that she had explained to the owner that staff needed to prepare for appointments beforehand but the owner refused to pay for this time, therefore, staff have no choice but to turn up at the start time of the appointment as that is all they will be paid for. If this is true, it is appalling. Sad to see a salon on such a prominent street in Oxford treating staff in this way and offering customers such a poor level of service. I was fully refunded for the appointment (as I no longer wanted to proceed with treatment from staff who were clearly rushed, stressed and ill-prepared) but that is the least of my concerns with this salon. I am much more concerned about the potentially unfair working conditions. Would suggest to avoid this salon at all costs!

I have been to this salon a couple of times. Usually I got my work done from Inder and or Jiya. But in my most recent visit to this salon. A new young lady took me. At first I thought she was just prepping me but than she started the procedure. She was supposed to do extended bikini. But she ended up doing the whole bikini(Hollywood). This was one of the most painful experience of life. I was sweating all over and was left with irritable skin for the next couple of days. Which literally ruined my weekend.
This salon was used to be good but for some reasons they are promoting new and untrained staff and I refuse to be a guinea pig for them to learn on me.
I just wanted to share my experience so the first timers are aware of what to expect when booking here

Salon was nice and and nails done well but the removal of my old gels was done in about 2 mins using a nail file rather than soaking them off and I was charged £20 for that, which I could have done myself.

I enquired about facial and I was told that it's £45 but treatwell prices start from £30 and go on to £35. I am not sure if they lied about their prices or treatwell prices are not updated? Disappointed by eyebrows as it was assymetrical. I was charged more for waxing but still had hair on my face... disappointing.

My go-to place in Oxford for threading and waxing. Clean and solid work. Will recommend!

I have had a Hollywood wax done twice by the owner now and they have both been great.
I will definitely be going back.
