Love this place. The room is so cosy and well decorated. On arrival we were presented with a menu asking what we'd like for breakfast. I've stayed in a lot of b&bs and hotels but non have given me the homely feeling this one has.

I was here with my hubby for 3 nights he was away on a course during the day and I felt very comfortable being here on my own... John the owner was always here and would go out of his way to be a fantastic host. Love this place we had the huge snug room leading onto a beautiful outside private little garden ideal if you just want out of your room to sit and chill . A bonus had a hot tub too... I don't want to leave wow wow wow that's all I can say..... Whoops nearly forgot breakfast was yummy 😋 We will be back for sure many thanks John you are a star 🌟 keep in touch Julie and Chris Law xx

Really cute and quirky B&B. Stayed last weekend, and it was a treat.
Belvoir Suite was lovely, super clean, and some nice homely touches.
Breakfast was excellent. I would highly recommend for short stays.

Since this B&b got so many positive reviews, I would have loved to have stayed there last year, but unfortunately, it was downright impossible to get in touch with anyone, either personally or via email.

When a friend of mine who lives in the area went there to personally book a room for me, all he got was a talking doorbell (so nobody even bothered to answer the door!) that told him to go on the website to arrange a booking, which I then did – or rather tried to do.

Since I didn’t want to book a specific room, though, I looked up the onwer’s email address and wrote them a message, but although I sent my booking enquiry several times (!), I never got a reply, so obviously, (potential) customers aren’t important enough for the owner to even bother with a reply, however short.

In the end, I had to make other acommodation arrangements and when I look at the negative experience other guests are telling about on TripAdvisor, I’m very relieved I didn’t get to stay at this B&B after all.

On top of all that, when I wrote a similar review about my experience on TripAdvisor, my review was deleted, supposedly because I didn’t actually stay there, but in my opinion, it is still an experience that other customers should know about, so I’m trying again here and I will wait and see what will happen.

Absolute horrifying experience with this hotel. The woman called Jessica was not only rude and impatient on the phone while I queried about parking, she also lied about the parking space. The breakfast was 15 minutes late even you were given a leaflet to write down the time you want the breakfast for. Cereals are not edible as they were extremely old and only little left in the jars. When I asked for fresh refills, I got shouted for my 'attitude'. We lost appetite and no time to eat since my daughter needed to go to school, the woman shouted in a controlled voice 'give me the key! Out you go!!'
My daughter cried all the way to school.
For those people who didn't get response from this horrible owner hence missed the Chance to stay, I'll have to say how luck you were! As you might be another victim of this crazy woman Jessica, who would ruin your good memories of staying in a hotel when you are supposed to relax and enjoy. I don't understand how she has got so many good reviews, somebody needs to do something to put this right!

Lovely B&B with lots of attention to detail. Rooms are well stocked, comfortable beds, toiletries, mini fridge, hair dryer. Entry is by a door code, on-street parking. Handy for the city centre Papplewick Pumping Station and Newstead Abbey. The hostess is lovely, helpful and knowledgeable about the location. Breakfast was as small or large as you wanted it to be and delicious. We went all day on that breakfast! Would highly recommend.

Rude staff when trying to book a room. Not helpful at all she actually put the phone down because I called to early to ask if they had a room. It was 7am not 4am. Customer service there was none. If I wanted a room as urgent it shouldn’t matter what time I called you should always be polite but no.

would rate 0 stars if i could, absolutely terrible. Rude staff, had the audacity to have an argument with me after i told the owner something to improve on (the cereal was VERY old). Absolutely horrible lady, I paid extra money for this and this is what i get. Don’t go, no customer service whatsoever
