On arrival we were told a 'mistake' had been made and we couldn't stay there. This was despite a booking six months prior and payment for one night. We were taken elsewhere to a B&B that had none of the facilities for which we had chosen Wren Lodge. Unforgiveable behaviour - unprofessional and probably illegal.
I cannot in fairness comment on quality or facilities as we doidn't get to experience them but this review needed a response.

Absolutely wonderful! I haven't stayed at Wren Lodge Guest House in St Albans personally, but I have visited recently. It is a lovely building that is very well cared for, with wonderful character throughout, an elegant look and feel to it, and beautiful mature gardens. The location is superb, only minutes from both the St Albans City Train Station (22 minutes to central London) and a few minutes to the St Albans City Centre. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a traditional B&B in a wonderful city with excellent amenities.

I love this place. Have stayed there three times over the years. The breakfast is excellent and the rooms are all unique and charming. It is very close to the main train station in st Albans, and that line is very convenient for tourism in London proper. However, don't overlook St Albans itself as a destination. The cathedral is a must as well as the clock tower in the town center. There are tons of clarming pubs and restraunts within 5 to 10 minutes walk of Wren Lodge. I highly recommend this B&B as a value and a quality destination.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Wren Lodge. Our only possible regret is that our stay is too short. Gill is so welcoming and helpful, staying here is more like visiting with an old friend. The rooms are bright, well appointed and the beds very comfortable. Gill has a wealth of knowledge about the surrounding areas and London which she enthusiastically shares. We look forward to many more stays at Wren Lodge and will highly recommend it to anyone staying in the area.

Stayed for one night in May. Had a twin room with ensuite. Very comfortable and, compared with hotel prices, excellent value. Gill was very welcoming and provided a freshly cooked breakfast. Off street parking available. Great location as a short walk to both the centre of St Albans and the station. Can thoroughly recommend.

We always use this lovely little b&b when we want to go to London to see a show - it's a five min walk to the train station!! And allows us to keep out of the huddle and bustle of London itself. A lovely townp to visit on its own too though.

Alway have a warm welcome by Gill, and would recommend anyone to stay here.
