Great location in 5 minutes walk from Dover train station. Nice, clean and cosy room only the bathroom was small but for one night stay it was perfect. For £40 for 2 per night it was great money to spend. The lady was lovely and helpful.

We're a couple that stayed in a room at the top floor for £50 a night.

Location:
+ Amazing location, 5 min walk from train station. 10 min from central Dover. 10 sec from bus station.
Side-note: Bus tickets are £4 a day for Dover, which is not bad.

Interior:
= Dated and small, but fits the price.
+ Small TV in the room, a mirror, coffee and tea, and our own bathroom. Bathroom had toilet paper, shower gel and hand soap.
Though the shower is small, this was expected for the price we paid.
- No sound insulation. You can hear everything in the neighbouring rooms, hallway, etc. E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G.

Exterior:
+ Wonderful, with 2-3 parking slots. First come, first serve.

Cleanliness:
+ The room and building interior itself was clean...
- ...but the bed... Oh God, the bed. White, dried stains on the pillow case. Cheapest bed frame with spring mattress (the cheapest kind). Uncomfortable, noisy, and leaves an aching back for the next day. The 1 cm over-mattress is of foam, and very dirty with hairs, beard, etc. Loses a star purely due to this point.

Wi-Fi:
- Piss-poor signal if you're on the top floor, which is the case for at least two rooms. Most times the signal is too weak to connect to, and when we finally did on the 2nd day, we had a mediocre speed of 8mbps download.

Friendliness:
+ The hostess was very nice when meeting her face-to-face. Very friendly and kind.
- When asked about the poor Wi-Fi signal, we were told it was "complimentary" and could use it from the dining area, which defeats the purpose of Wi-Fi...
- Minor point: Since you can hear everything happening in other rooms/hallway, you'll be awoken by the cleaning service just after 9am.

Breakfast:
- We didn't try the breakfast due to the price: £8. You can easily get a breakfast for £3-5 in Dover itself, 10 min away.

Verdict:
Giving this place a 2 out of 6 stars. For £50 a night, it's not bad, but the uncleanly bed sheets is a huge negative. If you need Wi-fi, then this is not the place for you. Location is amazing, especially when you walk out in the morning to be met by the sigh of the castle in the distance. The the staff is friendly.
I would not come back.

Great bed and breakfast. Can't fault it really. Just location lets it down by that I mean the area. Stayed there night before using tunnel crossing. Hopefully stay there again next year for a trip over the channel again.

Only stayed one night for a weekend break, but it was nice enough. Rooms were clean, as was everything else, fresh towels etc, all the things you would expect. The staff very friendly, and the cooked breakfast in the morning was just as nice. Managed to get one of the 3 spaces for parking. Within walking distance of the town. Overall very pleased.

Had an amazing stay at Clare's House where Stella was very very welcoming, friendly and helpful.

The room was exactly like in the pictures online, very well kept and homey.

My partner and I would definitely recommend Clare's House for the most comfy and enjoyable stay in Dover.
