Very nice little pub. Staff are friendly. We managed to sit by the fire which was very nice after a long day in the cold. There isn't a lot of indoor seating for 'casual drinking' but would definitely recommend it for cider or ale fans

Really top quality food and motorbike friendly. We've been here 3 times over the last 3 months. The food is fantastic, the outdoor patio if big and lots of tables. Parking is great and location is on a great bit of road for riding. Friendly staff and amazing iced coffee!!

Absolutely bang average. Average mattress, way below average pillows and a joke of a breakfast. After being asked if we had any dietary requirements, Lisa informed them that she is gluten free only to be told that there was no gluten free bread available for breakfast (Booked 6 months in advance). Great location and fantastic service from check in/breakfast waitress.

Our first ever visit to West Dean to do a lovely walk, popped into The Dean Inn for lunch.
It was quite early on Wednesday and pretty quiet in the pub but I have to say the staff were really welcoming and friendly and our lunch was superb!
Two sandwiches which were presented beautifully with little extras and attention to detail which raised a simple lunch to something special.
Highly recommended!

Wow. What a lovely dining experience, food was excellent. Staff so friendly, the bar is friendly, locals come here.
They have rooms too. They are updated large rooms. With breakfast this being a full English menu too.
Fantastic loved it go.
Also they have an area that can be used for wedding receptions.
Definitely worth a look.

Hands down one of the best Sunday Lunches I've ever had in my whole entire life. When the food was put in front of us (table of 6) we went silent and all of us knew this was going to be good. presentation was great but not only that there was plenty to eat. The price is amazing for 2 options from the menu or 3. So I had a main and pudding. The pudding was to die for. All the food is locally sourced and also from the allotment. It's taken a long time to find somewhere that does such high standard food for such a reasonable price. I can't understand why there's not a line of people waiting to be seated outside the pub doors. There's no question we'll be going again. Thanks!

Lunch time break from cycling with my son and grandson should have been brilliant. Sitting outside enjoying the summer weather in a nice garden area. Our food arrived and simultaneously the chef decided he should burn off the bbq in preparation for the evening surge of steaks...the smoke and fumes drove us from the garden inside. Our meal cold from having to relocate. Not a word of apology. Demonstrates their approach to customer care. The food was pub food at fine dinning prices. Not particularly good and a terrible experience. Not going back and recommend you avoid the garden at lunchtime as the burn off is a regular event!!

We popped in one lunchtime after a lovely stroll around West Dean Gardens on a rare sunny day. It was our first visit.
We settled by the welcoming log burner with our glasses of Gribble Ale. A charming member of the bar staff came and took our order for food. We both decided on the ‘small plates’ menu...my husband chose Liver and Bacon and it was Slow Cooked Belly Pork for me. Both were delicious. We will return.
