Superb food. Lovely owners. Each bedroom is unique. Garden for the summer and log fires for the winter. Extremely restful place to stay and eat.

Excellent food, always go there for their amazing tasting menu. Haven't been served anything that I haven't liked. The food really is spectacular, plus excellent hosts. Took my friend who is lactose intolerant and they catered for her so well, and she didn't feel like she missed out on any of the food. Will always go for special occasions.

Booked 2 rooms for the night before a wedding and we were made to feel very welcome from our arrival until our departure, we could not fault the hospitality. The rooms were clean and well presented and the whole theme was very much in keeping with the surrounding area. The evening meal was excellent and the following mornings breakfast was perfect for the day ahead. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent festive menu, 3 courses for a very reasonable price in a lovely relaxed atmosphere. We had the turkey and beef main courses which were cooked to perfection. Large choice of wine although the red wine could have been more room temperature but otherwise I would be really struggling to find any complaints.

La Fosse is one of the best places I've ever stayed at. We were there only 3 days and wished we'd booked for longer.
It"s a very relaxed (and relaxing) 'restaurant with rooms'. Our room was spacious and comfortable and full of character with a huge bed and some odd mixed styles of furniture. There were 2 downstairs sitting rooms, one with maps and guide books of the local area. But it was the restaurant that made it so special.
The food was delicious, varied and often surprising. We had the taster menu on the first night (6 different small portions of typical dishes served in the restaurant by Mark the chef) so we knew this was definitely a good place to eat for the next few nights and were not disappointed. We were too full to manage the final course - the cheese course- and the waitress suggested leaving it for the next evening. We did this and were offered the 12 or so cheeses as a 'free' dessert the following night. Mark came out of the kitchen to tell us what each cheese was ab.nd where it was from.
Apart from the food I liked it that people dressed as they liked, some rather formally and elegantly and some in casual hiking clothes.
Finally the breakfast was the most efficiently run we've ever come across ( each table with its own toaster!) with healthy local food.
