Stayed here for 2 nights. Stopped in Dufftown to visit the speyside distilleries. Stayed in the Bank Manger Room. I must say a giant WOW! Karen and Alistair have set the bar for B&Bs. Absolutely a must-stay if you're in the area!

Pre-trip, communications were prompt and clear. We knew what to expect. We arrived on site to a warm welcome. Karen provided us with a great introduction to the area.

Room and facility just excellent. It's a labor of love restoring the old house to such standards, yet retaining its historic charm and features. Location of the house is very convenient. Walkable to many attractions but at the same time, set a little back from the street so it's quiet and peaceful.

Best of all was the warm hospitality. Karen and Alistair really care about what they do. From little details like source of ingredients for breakfast, good WiFi coverage in the room and all the way to discussions about Scottish produce and lamb. It feels like we were staying with good friends and not just "guests".

Highly recommend without any hesitation.

Thank you Karen and Alistair!

Karen and Alistair are gracious hosts who graciously welcomed us into their beautiful home. It is conveniently located to restaurants as well as an easy walk to the Glenfiddich distillery. My wife and I enjoyed our stay and will likely visit again on our next visit to Scotland.

Karen and Alistair were terrific hosts. They are very knowledgable about both the local area and Whisky in general. The breakfast are delightful, Karen’s gardens are beautiful, and Alistair’s Whiskey Walk should not be missed!!!

My wife and I stayed here in July 2017 (sorry for the extremely late review). This was the first bed and breakfast we had ever stayed at and unfortunately it ruined all the others for us. It is a beautiful house with beautiful grounds and gardens. Karen and Alistair are some of the most friendly people you will meet. Also, the best full Scottish breakfast I had the entire trip. If this place has availability, BOOK IT. You will not be disappointed. 10/10 would recommend.

Beautiful place to stay. Karen and Alistair are fantastic hosts. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable with everything you need for a romantic getaway. Breakfast is delicious, recommend everything but do try the Scottish Breakfast with Black Pudding, and definitely try the porridge with a dram of whiskey!!!
Karen has a beautiful garden, and they can both give you all the advice you need to plan your distillery tours. Town was very quiet and has definitely suffered during covid, but there is a lovely restaurant across the street, and the distilleries are so close.

Staying with Karen at the Highland Spirit Bed and Breakfast was the perfect way to see the Whisky capital of the world. Located right in the center of Duffton and in within a few minutes walk to the town a 15 minute walk to Glenfiddich, and a quick drive to many other distilleries, this was the perfect place to stay for a few days in the Highlands. Karen was an excellent host that provided many recommendations for things to do, to give us a great experience in our few days in Scotland. Breakfast each day was fantastic, with locally sourced ingredients that made up a tasty Full Scottish breakfast, as well as a dram of Monkey Shoulder whisky that was a great contribution to the morning's porridge. I'd highly recommend staying at the Highland Spirit to anyone looking to explore the highlands with a comfortable base point and excellent hosts! The rooms were cozy and had a selection of slippers, toiletries, and other amenities to make sure you were all set for your trip. As a side note, for those taking the UK day 2 COVID test, the testing kits were delivered right to the B&B, and the drop off box was within walking distance as well. I will definitely be returning to the Highland Spirit B&B next time I travel to Scotland.

Absolutely fantastic home away from home base to explore the Highlands and Malt Whisky Trail. Karen is so nice, welcoming, accommodating and gives some wonderful recommendations even amidst the uncertainty of COVID. The house is squeaky clean and homey, and COVID policies adhered to. Breakfast is an event here and it is spectacular. It's also so conveniently located yet tucked away at the same time, secluded getaway, not far from all the main things to do in the Highlands. 11/10 would recommend and certainly cannot wait to return!

Stayed here end of June 2021. It’s a fantastic place to stay. Everything from the welcome, quality of the rooms, bathrooms, cleanliness, gardens, breakfast and information was first class. Even the WiFi was good! As hosts Karen and Alistair were wonderful. Engaging, helpful and very generous. The Mortlach History and Whisky walking tour was one of the highlights of our trip. A fantastic way to spend an afternoon.
