Thistle Inn

What an absolutely fantastic place this is. Nestled in a small village next to Loch Ken with the stunning Galloway Forest park only a stones throw away. The food is absolutely gorgeous. Watch out for the home made cakes though as you'll be wanting more than one slice! Rooms were clean and comfortable

We’ve visited the Thistle Inn a few times now for dinner and the experience has been excellent every time!

Managed to fit us in last minute and couldn't have been more accommodating, especially when we wanted to eat at strange times / generally be awkward! Would highly recommend!

Such lovely hosts. I don't think they could have made us feel more welcome. I was only looking for a cheap hotel to break the journey northwards to Fort William and saw this had great reviews so gave it a try. The room was a decent size and very clean, the breakfast was nice and we were asked when we would like it so it could be ready quick when we arrived. All the staff were really friendly and seemed to have a genuine interest their customers. Also, unlike pretty much every hotel I have been in, the pricing of food and drinks is incredibly reasonable. I will definitely check this hotel next time I venture to the finer side of this island. Thank you :)

A warm welcome awaits you in this wonderful setting. Nestled in the small town of Crossmicheal the Thistle Inn provides the weary traveller or overnighter with very comfortable and clean accommodation a well stocked bar an an array of mouthwatering freshly cooked dishes. The staff are both accommodating and friendly with a professional approach whilst at the same time being ideal hosts. Very reasonably priced with a great breakfast to set you up for the day. The Thistle Inn is the ideal location in which to discover the beautiful surrounding areas of Dumfries and Galloway as well as further afield. In summary a great place to say, great food and laughter at the bar. As Arnie says “I’ll be back”.

Visited the thistle in August a few times, what an absolutly beautiful place, they catered for a party of 10 of us, staff are amazing and the food was superb, very reasonable pricing, such a cute very quaint place. Thankyou to the staff and the service we will deffinatly see you again.
