Lovely place. On only reason I can't give it 5 stars is there was a noisy wine cooler in the room posing as a fridge which woke me up.I eventually turned it off.

Really central and well kept room but limited parking, you will probably have to leave your car in one of the few public car parks overnight

Cockroaches Galore AVOID this place at all costs.

If you’re lucky enough to have the ground floor room underneath the room with the ladder, then you will have some extra critters festering around…

I can only presume we were the unlucky customers who visited after John (review below) who also found cockroaches in the same room.

We arrived back one evening and noticed a large object on the floor… it was a cockroach. Frustrated, we disposed of it and fell asleep. Around half hour later sleeping with one eye open we noticed another cockroach, then another. We placed a towel under the main door and tried to get back to sleep. Around half an hour later still sleeping with one eye open we noticed two more walking towards the bath. It was clear there’s a significant infestation. Leaving the room to access the out of hours number on the corridor I noticed another two cockroaches, this corridor leads to back of the ‘Love to eat Café’. Frustrated and disgusted by the infestation, we tried to call the out of hours numbers with little response. We then decided to pack up and leave. We headed towards a local McDonalds to have a coffee and hatch a plan. Knowing that the restaurant opened back up at 9am - ish we headed back to accommodation to speak to the staff. We asked the Café server if we could speak privately outside, we did briefly, and she went back inside.

However, we stood outside waiting for a further 15 minutes for a response to our issues. It was clear they were short staffed (This was mentioned by the same server who checked us in yesterday). I decided to head back into the café whilst other customers ate their breakfast, I asked to speak to the manager who couldn’t see us because she busy cooking breakfast. Around 10 minutes later the manager finally left the kitchen and we spoke outside. Well…I can only describe the manager as having the same mentality as a school cook. Her attitude and lack of sympathy towards the situation was astonishing. She didn’t give one apology and tried to justify the cockroaches due to the town’s historic status and local economy. We didn’t receive any consolidation from her but excuse after excuse. She lacked accountability and was not concerned when I pointed out the dead cockroach outside the café door. Further to this, she tried proposing we that should have one night of our two-night stay refunded because we stayed in the room partially (even though we were in McDonalds from 4am). However, she wouldn’t authorise a refund unless she spoke to the owner. We shortly left and received a call from the manager authorising a full refund for our stay. (To our relief)

My reflection is to avoid this place at all costs, the customer service is shocking, and they willingly placed us in a room that had a cockroach infestation. My concern is also for the food safety of the local café and the fellow customers who dine there. Please do not visit. They need to get pest control in ASAP and liaise with their Local Authority on a solution to the problem. Our trip to Wales was ruined and they didn’t care.

Booked room with bath on ground floor clean and well presented we did however have an issue for which the staff were very apologetic and assured us it was getting looked into and would be resolved as soon as possible.. we were moved to room upstairs again this room was well presented and slightly bigger also had a balcony which would recommend especially if sun out..full English breakfast was delicious and I requested continental on the 2nd morning which was even more delicious the staff were more than accommodating, very hard working and pleasant .this B n b is ideal for a weekend stay close to amenities and just a short walk to the harbour
