Ty Helyg Guest House (Bed and Breakfast)

We stayed 3 nights in the Ty Helyg Guest House, which was above and beyond expectations, a really wonderful and happy experience and exemplary hospitality. From the moment we arrived, Christin offered us a free upgrade to a more spacious room (which made us so grateful and speechless), the room was exceptionally clean and nicely decorated, breakfasts were amazing. But most important Christine was extremely helpful and knowledgable with suggestions about what to visit around and we felt really taken care of. Highly recommend this place and hopefully will have an opportunity to come back again.

Stayed here with wife and my 8 and 5 year old. Extremely cozy and comfortable. Beautiful rooms and an excellent breakfast. Thankyou Christine for your hospitality 😀

I must return. Had a lovely night and was delighted with the overall conditions. We were a group of motorcycle riders just for the night, but the friendly environment and warm welcoming made.our day to end perfectly. I need to return.

Arrived in the evening, landlady, friendly and informative. Room clean and compact has everything for a short stay. Bed comfortable. Nice friendly service. Breakfast adequate and not greasy. guest house right on the road so doesn't have own parking spaces but has alternative options nearby.

I stayed here with a friend for two weekend nights. When we arrived we were greeted by two incredible hosts and shown to our room. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable.
This hotel really feels like a home away from home. It's so cozy throughout, and there is a big lounge area with a wood burning fire and bar. It was absolutely lovely to read by a warm fire after a long day of exploring.
Breakfast was personalized down the the specific kind of jam we preferred - he even noticed how I like my tea and made an effort in the morning to make it perfect.
To top it off, they even brought out "birthday pancakes" with candles for my birthday on my last morning there!
I would absolutely recommend staying here - it has lots of character and charm in all the best ways.

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at Ty Helyg Guest House which was absolutely the perfect place to stay in Brecon. We booked for 4 nights and upon arrival requested a 5th night if it was at all possible. Christine pulled out all the stops to enable us to stay another night which was greatly appreciated. We received such a warm and friendly welcome, everything needed was readily available and tea, coffee etc in the room. The room was lovely, very clean, very comfortable bed and had the best nights sleep. Breakfast was FABULOUS every morning and we couldn't have wished for more.
It is very close to the town with plenty of shops, great restaurants and pubs and also close to lots of lovely walking trails, waterfalls and the mountains to explore. This was our first time in Wales and very much look forward to a return trip and to staying once again at Ty Helyg Guest House. Thank you so much to Christine for making us feel so welcome and looking after us so well. We very much look forward to returning to stay with you again in the future. Missing you and your great breakfasts already!!

Christine, the host went out of her way to help me after the company I work for booked the wrong dates. Even though she was away from the property and was fully booked she contacted another guest house to put me up. Not only this, but then got up extra early to make me a breakfast. Lovely room, with a much needed cooling fan and great location. Cannot recommend highly enough.
