Spaceslide Lichfield Showroom

We are so pleased with our wardrobes, the standard of product and installation is outstanding. The fitters worked so hard and in a difficult situation as the house was full of builders doing all kinds of snagging but they managed to work around them and did not complain once.

Sophie, The Sales Executive, has been so supportive and helpful throughout the process. She came to measure all the spaces for the wardrobes whilst the house was still being built and then worked tirelessly to design all the wardrobes exactly how we wanted them. She also sent us sketches and photos so we could visualise the final result. The entire process was swift and easy for us while she was paying attention to every detail.

We needed storage for a boot room in our new extension. We had several quotes but Spaceslide was very competitive. Sophie was very helpful at the showroom and helped to explain the system options. Glad we opted for the installation package, Mark did a great job, way better than I could have managed. Really slick finish, all in all a good experience. Will definitely use again if I need similar.

I could have bought similar but much cheaper sliding wardrobe doors that are sold in many DIY stores at considerably reduced prices; however very few suppliers had showrooms to view the doors. SpaceSlide have a showroom in Lichfield, near to my sister’s home, where I was going to install the Wardrobe. The visit was relaxed as the Manager, was very pleasant and avoided the “hard sell”. We were allowed to take time in viewing the displays and all my questions were answered. After initially choosing the Classic Range, I took my wife to the Swindon showroom near our home and we were dazzled by the display of Shaker doors in Cashmere with Grey Mirror glass. Examining the doors, I was thoroughly impressed with the rigidity, build quality and absolutely smooth running; impressions you cannot get from on-line viewing. I also viewed the SpaceSlide On-Line “Virtual Showrooms”, and was amazed by the fact that you can measure the size of the displays with great accuracy, for comparison with my intended construction. This is a feature I’ve never encountered before and is absolutely brilliant! The Swindon showroom visit convinced me to opt for the much more expensive Shaker doors.

Placing the order at the Lichfield showroom, the service was impeccable. The staff patiently listened to my requirements and many questions and were extremely helpful as I was opting to install the doors myself, a considerable cost saving that carried great risk, if anything went wrong. The after-sales service was superb as my two changes, post order, were incorporated in a very friendly, helpful manner and without increasing the cost. At all stages I was kept fully informed.
Delivery was fast and all packages were brought indoors and laid out for a complete check for missing items and damage. The excellent packaging could not be faulted and ensured there was no damage to the glass doors.
Most people have installation by SpaceSlide. If you go the DIY route, the doors were delivered ready assembled, so I only had to fit the Top Guide Rail and the Bottom Track. The internal Tower Unit with 3 x Drawers that I’d purchased had very good instructions that made assembly very easy. The separate bedside table with two drawers was a bit more challenging as the instructions covered several variations of size.
DIY Tips
1. Use the SpaceSlide colour matched Lining battens to ensure the ceiling and floor are absolutely flat and level.
2. If necessary, use Lining battens to ensure the sides of the opening are flat and at right angles to the floor. Use a Laser or Plumb Line, as the door adjustment is limited.
3. Use as many “Buttons” as you can to secure the Bottom Track. I used about 200mm spacing for the heavy doors.
4. My large Shaker doors (2400 x 980 mm), required a 2-man lift.
5. Secure the rollers into the frame with some masking tape, so they don’t drop down and snag on the track when the doors are lifted.
6. The instructions advise a 4mm Allen key for adjusting the height of the rollers. The Shaker doors require a 5mm Allen key.
Lessons
1. The colour matched Lining battens and End Panels are very fragile and easily damaged.
2. The slight damage to the bedside table and its location, convinced me that damage occurred prior to packaging. The lesson being, check for damage ASAP. I did this for the most expensive items, the doors, but ignored the small bedside cabinet.
3. Before you place an order, make sure you have thought of every detail. Changing an order will incur extra delivery charges. I was lucky and avoided extra charges.
Conclusion
I am thoroughly impressed with SpaceSlide, and will certainly be a return customer, especially when they are offering a 50% discount. The staff in the showrooms were a credit. Pleasant, helpful and efficient, keeping me fully updated at all times. Best of all, the showrooms allow you to compare the various styles and gain an appreciation of the build quality and feel of their products.

This is our second set of wardrobes from Space Slide. We are in Sheffield and for certain circumstances our local showroom wasn't open so the Lichfield showroom provided our second set.

Sophie came out from the Lichfield store and travelled to our home - which is over an hour away - where she priced up and measured our very uneven bedroom for a set of 4 door full width wardrobes. She was very nice and professional. The next day we received an email with the full design of our wardrobes and price as discussed. The images were very good. She also sent photos of a similar style of interior and doors from the showroom and left samples of what we had chosen.

3 weeks later our wardrobes were ready to be fitted, booking a day for the fitters to come was easy and there was regular contact to keep us up to date with delivery. We got a time of arrival within 2 hours the day before (one of the days before being a bank holiday but we still received a text).

The fitters arrived and were very professional. They brought dust sheets to cover our carpets and were very respectful of our property. They tidied away after themselves and hoovered. They did a fantastic job and were very pleasant.

We are very happy with our finished product and will certainly recommend Space Slide to anyone wanting to have fitted wardrobes at a price significantly better than rival companies for a very high quality service and product.

Such a brilliant company!! Sophie was very thorough in understanding my requirements when I went to see her, following up with detailed drawings to help me visualise what it will look like. Followed by a quick installation date and Mark and Aaron were fantastic fitters - very professional and the final product is flawless. Will definitely be using them again for my other rooms.
