Cycle King Colchester

I went this morning without an appointment to have my brake mended. Really helpful and knowledgeable staff helped me, sorted my brake for free! If I’d gone to Halfords they’d have insisted it being part of a whole check up which would have taken ages and then they’d have told me I needed a new bike! Cycle king are lovely.. amazing prices on their new bikes in the store too! V tempted!

Unfortunately not the most pleasant experience. Was left standing without any acknowledgement for quite some time. Customer service was poor. Has two new tyres and inner tube on my pram. Was charged £48. Around over £10 per tyre to install which I found excessive for the 5 mins labour. It I wasn't desperate I would have walked out. In response to your reply I can safely say i was not welcomes in and had to make my presence know to be acknowledged. Like I said already not a pleasant experience and sadly will not be returning . Don't trust this place. I took my bicycle in to have the bottom bracket replaced just before our trip to center parcs, during our stay the bottom bracket failed on the first day so I ended up getting a rental bike. I was suspicious as bottom brackets don't fail that easy or quickly. Soon as I got back home I decided to strip the bottom bracket myself as I am a qualified mechanic but didn't have the tools at the time. Shockingly I discovered that the bearings had been assembled without grease. After many attempts to email them and their main office, my messages were ignored. Very unprofessional and incompetent.

Popped in on recommendation of another bike shop in town that said these guys had the best knowledge and were best value in town.

Have been to see them twice (once for a tricky seat-suspension repair, once to have brake pads replaced) and both times service, value and customer chat have been absolutely first class.

They are now my first choice and recommendation for any cycle issues in Colchester

Always nice, polite, helpful and very knowledgeable, they have helped me out many many times! Gears, brakes, tyres all sorted fast and effectively and NEVER had any issues with ANY work they have done. Always recommend cycle king they are true ‘bike experts’ NOT big company’s who only care about money. Thank you cycle king :)

Excellent service at this shop. Took my little boys specialised in for new brakes and a general service. Quick and prompt. Plus they were very friendly. Would highly recommend this shop for bike repairs.
