Decided to take our 2 grandchildren on this relaxing informative cruise on a drizzly day ..I must say the captain went out of his way to make sure we sat together as 4 on face to face seating ...the kids thought the pet ducks on the front of the boat was hilarious ...being fed by the captain..Its an ideal trip for youngsters to enjoy a river pleasure trip ..really worth trying

The trip gives you a lovely view of the waterfront up stream as far as the rapids, including the church accessed by boat, the commentary is full of information about the river its fishing records and about the building and wildlife. Explains why Nelson ordered the planting of the oak forest. The Swiss cottage and the railway.
It's a pity you cannot book, so get there early if you want one of the few seats outside in the rear.
You can pay by card despite what it says on the website.

Lovely boat trip along the river and informative commentary.
Passing families using the river, canoes, paddle boards. And the little church at the side of the river is so lovely.

We were looking forward to this little trip, however we were disappointed in the end. The engine was turned on too early and fumes drifted in. Bread was fed to the ducks and geese, and the commentary regarding women and fishing, came across as sexist.
On the positive side there was some interesting information and the cleaning seemed thorough.

Great location, lovely views. But what a shame their is no respect. Wanted to inquire about the trips however such a shame that the person who was supposed to be there to provide information was rude. While walking up towards them. They turn their face the other way when it is clear someone is approaching them. Then when enquiring they give one word answers and make it clear you are not welcome. If you have no customer service do NOT start a business or work in a customer service based business! Due to this it was not worth actually going on the cruise such UNWELCOMING individuals.
