What a marvelous, little store! Seems to be wonderful for Catholics and anyone seeking old books, fiction or non-fiction. I highly recommend it to all Catholics in Oxford looking for good, cheap books.

there is a sign saying that bags had to be handed in to any staff.
So I had this clarified with a member of the staff who said it was fine, tilll a bald bespectacled middle aged man interfered.
Fine I gave him my bag.
Then I saw other Customers had their bags with them.I sensed discrimination but decided not to speak out, but I just told the same man politely I wanted to leave.
He just handed it lackadaisically.

Good place to hangout if you love old books, theology, and philosophy. Once you entered, it feels like you come back to 19 century. You can even find a original series of Sherlock Holmes or the authentic Thomas Aquinas and Darwin book.

Excellent collection. I bought full set of Edward Gibbon’s The fall and rise of roman empire. Very pleased to own them. Friendly staff members

SUCH a cool bookstore. We didn’t end up buying anything this trip to keep our luggage light, but would definitely recommend for book buffs!
