Loved it. Got beautiful weather when we drove across it. We only stopped for 10-15 minutes just to take few pics of the bridge over the river. Beautiful views!

Beautiful location, very peaceful. Not really anywhere to park but worth a quick stop

Lovely spot and starting point for one side of Offa’s Dyke Path, great walk and some stunning views of the River Wye.

A very nice and interesting place. There is a small bunker next to the toll building. You can also fish in the area, fishing from a boat is forbidden. Along the shoreline of the river you can reach some interesting places by walking (check maps). There is no parking near the bridge. The car can be parked on the side of the road if, of course, there is still room. Beautiful views all around.

Hiked for miles to get to it and there's not even a pub nearby.
What self respecting bridge doesn't lead to a pub?!
Is quite pretty though and you can cross it which makes it functional as a bridge which is handy...given that's what it is.

Bigsweir Bridge is an 1827 road bridge crossing the River Wye, straddling the boundary between the parish of St. Briavels, Gloucestershire, England, and Llandogo, Monmouthshire, Wales. It carries the A466 road, and is located about 2 miles north of the village of Llandogo, 2 miles south of Whitebrook, and 3 miles west of the village of St Briavels. It is the Normal Tidal Limit of the River Wye, and navigation below this point falls under the jurisdiction of the Gloucester Harbour Trustees.
There is no village at Bigsweir. The bridge is about 660 yd upstream of the fishing weir and ford of Bigsweir, which is close to Bigsweir House. Fishing rights at Bigsweir were mentioned in the Domesday Book. By 1331 the rights were held by the monks of Tintern Abbey, some 4 miles downstream of the weir (low dam) , and there were objections to the abbey raising the level of the weir and so impeding navigation.
