The Clothiers Arms

Have been coming here on and off for a few years. The menu offers a good variation of food with both vegan and vegetarian options.

Staff are all friendly enough and happy to help.

They have a good selection of beers and cider on tap as well as bottled behind the bar and the price per drink isn’t expensive compared to one or two places nearby.

Beer garden is a good size offering tables with gazebos for shade as well as a small play area for children.

Our stay here was wonderful! Staff was friendly and helpful. They provided good conversation and helpful advice. We came with our 2 kids and our room was very clean with comfortable beds. We enjoyed our dinner and English breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed having a couple of beers at the bar. Stewart, the bartender and the 2 waitresses (sorry, I didn't get your names!) were very nice with a good character of hospitality. The only criticism I have is it would be helpful to have a shelf in the bathroom and in the shower to place one's toothbrush, shampoo, soap, etc. We hope to be able to visit this place again from Washington, DC!

Arrived early as was raining yet the staff happy for us to come in whilst they set up. Ale excellent and food delicious home made fare with local ingredients and reasonably priced. Fab .

Highly recommended. Great room, good internet, friendly staff and good food, conveniently located a few minutes walk from the station. And very reasonably priced.

Stayed the night here after a work Christmas party, we were checked in and shown to our room, super friendly and helpful, came back late and didn’t have any issues with getting into the room. The included breakfast was perfect and have no complaints about my stay here at all

Stayed a night with our dog in the room called Meadow. Practical double room with basic ensuite shower & toilet. Best bit about the room was the private outside patio area accessed directly from the room - very handy with a dog! But (with a bit of tlc, anyway) it would be lovely in nice weather. The stars I didn't award reflect the overall need for maintenance around the place rather than the level of service (friendly staff, both in the morning and evening) or the food, which was mainly delicious (mashed potato aside, which seemed almost like preprepared, at complete odds with the rest of the grub which was clearly fresh, and tasty!). Even the bedsheets had seen better days, and although they were clearly freshly laundered, weren't really fit for purpose any more (tears and stains). We could have done with staying an extra night (it was a business trip...) but the hotel was fully booked so we couldn't, which suggests that it is popular enough that new sheets should be within the budget 🤷🏼‍♀️... Overall, a good place to stay, and definitely worth having food! Gluten free & soya milk wasn't a problem either. Photos of small Gammon and Pineapple and Chicken pie and gravy... Yum!

A lovely pub, with good sized car park and location. Busy on Friday night during my visit, very much a local and regular place.....quick to serve but if you have bar food it plonked down in front of you and no one gives you cutlery or tells you that you have to get your own, or where it is with any condiments, napkins are..In fairness, busy, food good, nice sized portions but a little better service would go a long way.

The food was beautiful, lovely to know it's all fresh local ingredients! Service was great; We were served quite quickly (even throughout a busy Saturday lunch rush)!
